Thanks for the info. how does a gtb 7.5 compared to say what is available for the mamba max?

I may just pick up a seperate larger mah pack, though, 6000mah at the most. Will see as they are still determining what the mains are going to be like.

oops, that was a typo. That was suposed to say 17.5. I would pick up any 8kmah lipo w/ atleast a 10c discharge rating(when you get a high capacity pack you don't really need the high discharge ratings) & gtb 6.5/7.5 or a mamba 5700. I use truerc.net 8kmah 10c 2s lipos, they have redesigned them to fit in car chasis & they sale for $75+like $10 for plugs & shipping.

If you want to run a 30 minute main I would go w/ the 8kmah. However, you should be able to make it w/ a 6kmah pack & a milder motor, like a gtb 10.5/8.5.

Anybody else racing electric truck in the gas truck class in the RC Pro Series?

I am racing in the East Division with the first race at Avon Park, FL March 29th thru 30th!

The series makes a stop at my local track.

A past MT racer, I just assembled my first S/T today. T4 with 5700 Mamba. If all goes well, I'll most likely run the one race locally at least.

I've got two ProTek 2S 20C 4000mah batteries. Tied in parallel with the 5700, would this give me adequate run time?

Absolutely... with room to spare. I think some are doing it on a 4800 Orion.

As a conservative estimate my T4 w/5700 uses about 1500mah in a typical 5 min heat (at least 6 minutes actual runtime) so that's about 5000mah for 20 minutes.

It looks like there will be some more trucks to pick between for this upcoming summer. The proto K car looks awsome & the e-firestorm w/ some upgrades looks like a very promising car as well(its transmission is built for this class).

Craps-
You asked if anyone else on here was running RC Pro this year. I plan to run the St. Louis, Missouri event in May. We will be running production M/T and 1/10 scale truck. Not sure yet if I will be racing my GT2 or my T4 but both of them will be on the trailer.

FYI-
just ordered 2 maxamps 8000mah packs for our program. We should be in good shape for 08'

Sooo I was bored today and I started switching gt2 stuff over to the T4. I don't know if I'm ahead or behind the times haha but here's what I came up with. Put the rear arms, hubs, quick change stub axles and dog bones. I had to drill a hole to screw in the shocks but I think it's solid. Bigger bearings in the gt2 hubs are real nice and no dinky cvd's. Would have used the stock t4 rear arms but they are longer than the gt2s and the dogbones wouldn't reach. Don't know how it will handle though. I don't know if anyone else is doing this but I think it would hold up well to some serious power!

Pretty much all the GT2 stuff will fit on the T4. I run RPM front arms/bulkhead, with GT2 castor blocks & steering knuckles, B44 rear hubs (w/oversize bearings) I think it's the same as the GT2. I haven't switched to the GT2 quick change hubs, that's next. The GT2 parts are much beefier than T4 parts....same geometry.
