BL 8ight powered by A123 batteries...........

Look at how many 8ights were sold, not just for racing, but for the bashers also. Take the best selling 1/8 buggy of all time and combine it with a no brainer BL system, and voila! They're going were the money is ( rtr's ) and the next big money maker will be a BL powered, factory built, 1/8 buggy.

Since I dont like Losi, Kyosho MP777 Brushless.
Or the ST-R Truggy Brushless, hec-ck RC8 brushless...
I have many more choices.
He-ck a buddy of mine has a mugen sekie sponsership, and he's going up to the winternats.
A mugen cuts about 200 bucks off of the inferno 777.
That might be the way for me to go.

Ok, This got me thinking again. (look out)

I don't race. I don't plan on racing. I can't ever see me running this vehicle in that fashion. I would do some laps if given a chance but I wouldn't ever need to complete a 10-20 minute race.

I am a basher and a crasher. That's what I love and do. I like to hit the neighborhood parks and construction sites and vacant lots and stuff like that.

I'm thinking that maybe an MGM 16018 or other similar ESC would be just fine for what I do. I know some of the possible combos have been recommended against because of overheating.

But if I'm just doing short burst bashing and speed runs don't you think it might be ok?

I can't wait for the MMM to come out.

I beilve I will wait til the Novak Conversion comes out.
An airplane brushless motor would be a cheaper route, but wont
be effiecient for Electric Truggy racing.

All of the neu motors were originally designed for airplanes.

I'll do this for the MBx5-prospec
And do the novak kit for the 8th scale buggy so I can use 6-cell nimh packs.

The truggy I might run dual 7 cell nimh packs.

This is maybe 1 year down the road, I have to get a 501x right now.

Ran my E-RC8 against this past Saturday at McCullough's track on their 'nitro only' day. With alot of locals down at CRCRC, they were only running gas truck, 1/8th scale, and truggy. They split the scale and truggy classes into 'intermediate' and 'expert' That way the less experienced ppl dont have to run with the big dogs and get yelled at and hit alot. lol. Anyway, I ran in expert scale against all nitro scales, and we had 14 total cars. The fastest guys there run lap times in the mid 15's. I managed to crank off one high 15 sec lap, with lots of low 16 sec laps, so the car is in the ballpark. I wreck too much tho, and qualified and finished like 12th overall. Couldn't even manage to bump up to the A. The car was dialed and stupid fast, but I just caught the tubes a couple of times every race. The competition there is intense. From 3rd down to 12th was only a 10 second spread. So each wreck or bobble drops you down the list fast. The car was working much better than the driver was! Running Rob Schaffers setup from CRCRC, with a few changes. 40wt and black springs in the front, and 2.2mm swaybars front and rear. And 5k center diff oil, instead of 7k. Can't wait to race it again, except that racing indoors in the cold sucks too bad.

I might do the CEN conversion or another cheaper 8th scale buggy for a bashing project, then
when I'm done bashing, pop that novak conversion into a RC8 chassis.
That probably not what you guys were expecting...lol
I just need 1 system for 2 cars lol
