I just saw a ICE charger on ebay and the bid right now is 99.00 plus like 8.50 shipping.Shoot you can get a new one for like 119.00 I think.

Yeah, some eBay users are blissfully *unaware* of what stuff costs new or friends of the seller bid stuff up for the seller......

Hey ,why couldn't I splice my charger output to do 2 -3800's packs at the same time? Set the 989 at 12 cells and 3800 mah and maybe drop the capacity from 150% to 120, then re-peak them before use as 6 cell packs? Thanks. Dan

Thanks for the link to that power supply.I really want to make a good purchase on a charger as I know that I will probably have it for quite a long time.I might have to sell my RC10GT to do it but I was going to sell it anyway to get 2 PTs for my 1/8th Buggy An 1/8 Stadium. It is so hard to sell my old stuff

I've heard nothing but good things about the Ice and Brain chargers. But I haven't raced since the 80's, and back then it was all Dynamite.
I've owned at least 3 other Dynamites before the one I have now. Both of my kids own their chargers as well. Never had an issue with any of them. Each time I upgraded I passed the old one on to my family or friends in the circle of RC's. I know of 2 still in service. I upgraded to this about a year ago.

I got it for 90.00 at the LHS. You can read all the specs at the link. I don't know how well it works for matched type batteries and the high end stuff. Like I said I don't do that anymore, but it charges all my stick packs, Rx packs and even lipos for the planes and helis I'm getting into now.
You never specified what you were going to use it for. Some of the racers may disagree with me but if you're just goofing around, you can't beat it. Easy to use, reliable and will be around for awhile.
Why mess with a good thing, and it is just my opinion.

Looks like its a backlit Duratrax Ice.
motomanpat you could also add that to your list of possible chargers.

It looks like an Ice but has some great features. 30a discharge instead of 10a. 20a motor break in instead of 10.

Duratrax Ice hands down! I actually had more expensive chargers and sold them off and bought 2 Ice chargers. I also tried a MRC about a year ago, for about a month and got rid of it. It worked ok, but didnt trust it with lipo's. Also its kinda cheaply built, I guess you get what you pay for with the power supply and all, not top knotch stuff.

I'd love to know when the Checkpoint charger is going to come out. I'd also love to know a price. That should be a good charger. The discharge function at 30 amps is what I really like. That and it's cooler colors than the Ice. It's the Ice charger but better from the look and spec on it. Considering how much I like my Ice, I'm looking forward to this one.
