Any chance we could see a return of the 3D's? I run on a hard, dry, sometimes dusty outdoor clay track and green 3D's were absolutely dialed. I wish JC still made them for 1/10 buggy.

Unfortunately no, sales/demand numbers were just WAY to low :(

I've never compared them, but in theory should be close.

Thanks, was looking at your tire chart but appears they have not updated for new Aqua compounds.

Sad to hear.

In that case, what would you say is the difference between the original DD, the DDv2, and the sprinters? Where does each excel and when would I want to use one over the other?

We do have a compound chart with Aqua - Click Here

The DDv2's have more pin spacing and should be better on really dusty or damp slick grooved tracks. Sprinters seem to be better on grooved tracks with dust on top or abrasive and dusty tracks. Sprinters should also wear better than DDv2.

What JC tires are made currently in the Aqua 3 or Aqua 4 compound?

Anyone got experience on office style carpet? if so, for 2wd and 4wd buggy, is the hot setup the fuzzbites front and rear or the nessi's rear and fuzzbite fronts? If fuzzbite fronts, on 4wd do you still glue the sidewalls?

That would be awesome. Or in gold would be nice too. My track is super abrasive and will eat a set of silvers in one race night.

Anyone seen any Smoothie Buggy rears in stock anywhere?

rk_619 09-12-2022 11:18 AM

Did JC really discontinue the F2 lightweight body for the 22 5.0? Can't find one anywhere including the JC website no longer shows the lightweight version as an option...?

They were on their site last week. Signup to be notified once they come back in stock.

They must not have been a fast moving item anymore so they discontinued them.

So getting ready for the Jcon Nats at Thunder Road RC Raceway this weekend wanted to work on getting a setup for 4wd buggy that didn't require gluing the sidewalls of the 4wd fuzzbites front. Did use 18m cut foams. I ended up going from a AE V2 Red front spring and 600cst oil (1.6mm pistons x 2) up to AE V2 orange springs and then eventually some Custom Works 6lb front springs, 700cst oil. This really calmed down the front end ( I also went up on the diffs, but did this with the starting red springs).

As I like a bit more consistency than gluing, I was wondering if any grinding of the outer pin area of the tread has helped in that cutting down on grip roll on these, and if so, how far in on the tire are you doing this?

These tires are also already glued up so no usage of the sidewall stiffeners possible if those help, but curious none the less.

Honestly I'm not aware that any of our guys have tried changing their setup around not gluing. They just glue the sidewall with the zip kicker/cup trick and it seems to work really well. I don't think any of them have tried grinding down the outer pin area either on the Fuzz Bites, but that might be a good test.
