I've been mounting tires this way for years. I've never had a problem before. Seems o be worse on blue compound

I use an alcohol swab on rims/tires, works very well for me.

Motor spray on a rag and wipe bead...done.

Any chance of a 22T midmotor body being released?

No, sorry.

We still make the current Rulux wheels, but no plans for any new Rulux wheels right now.

Is there an ETA for barcodes....1/10th front and SC?

Found some at a LHS... sweet !

I run some double dees and I like the tread and compound but the carcass seems wimpy and the tire really suffers from the sideways "scrub" and the outer sidewall rolls inward. It feels like the tread isn't able to be as effective as it could be on a beefier carcass.
Gluing up some ribs on the inside of the sidewall helps but not much. More camber is not the answer either.
Comparing to a holeshot syk.

That sounds like more of an insert issue. Are you running open cell inserts, have they gotten wet?

No XB4 body yet? Need to get some paint done and would love for it to be on a JC body ;)

I have a question for the JC guys. I run my 22Sct and my SCTE at OCRC, WCRC and occasionally SCVRC here in SoCal. I notice that the JConcepts closed cell foams are pretty good out of the package and after about 3-5 battery packs really hit a sweet spot and are PERFECT. But then after 20 or so packs, they really start to fade and get too soft. None of these tracks have very much wear and I find myself having to re-foam the tires before the treads are worn. I thought I was the only one, but have spoken to several people and they've noticed the same thing. Is JC doing something about this? Is it just me and a few of my friends or is this something others are noticing as well? I've used the AKA red foams before and though they seem to last maybe slightly longer, I just don't like how they handle as well as when the JC's hit their sweet spot. Is JC working on a new foam compound? I have to say, the Barcode gold compound tires in my opinion are the absolute best tires available for my local tracks, I've tried others and none of them have the consistency or grip that the Barcodes have.

One last unrelated question, is JC currently working on any new bodies that'll fit the TLR 22SCT well? The only body that I really feel fits that truck well is the stock body and I really do like it, but I'm just kind of ready to try something different out just to change it up. Thanks guys!

It's in the works...

Unfortunately that's the nature of this type of foam. It doesn't last forever especially what we put them trough on the track. If we made the foam any harder or more dense so that it last longer, it just wouldn't have any traction and would probably take 50+ packs to wear in. Unfortunately it's a give and take when it comes to performance.

Our Hi-Flow body fits the 22SCT well and has been updated with the proper dimples. Our FORD F250 also fits very well and some of our TLR team drivers are beginning to favor the F250. JR Mitch has TQ'd and won the last several Super Cup events using the F250 on his 22SCT.

It seems I'm not the only one looking for some 1/10 rulux wheels w/ hexes. I can promise, if you make them you will sell me several & hexes & axles, for at 2 (maybe 4) vehicles.

dgdcustoms 02-17-2013 01:30 PM

Will we ever see regular bodies again? Or are the cab forwards all we have to look forward too? I'm not a big fan of these bodies and they look way weird to me...
