I got my XX-4 and BK2 up and running for the first time this past weekend. The XX-4 to me is alot easier to drive rather than the BK2. It seems to have traction everywhere with the right tires on it. My XX-4 jumps great. It just takes practice and knowing not to have your finger on the throttle while in the air or mashing the throttle going into a jump.
I run a Velociti 5.5 in my XX-4 and I thought for sure I was gonna come home with a broken car Sat. night, but it held up REALLY WELL. It held up alot better than my XXX-T even has and my XXX-T is a complete turd compared to the speed my XX-4 was getting in the back staight.

If cost is an issue really look into the SB V2 Pro. Fully pro optioned for $309.99 from Stormer.
If you do go with a BJ4, go with the WE. I had the chance to wheel the BJ4 first edition and did not like how jittery it was in the rough. Could be a setup issue possibly.
The X5 is a bullet, very nice vehicle.

There are two really nice XX-4's on Ebay right now with alot of hopups. They both look very well maintained and hardly used.

My vote is for a used xx-4 and rebuild it. I pulled my 9 year old first release xx-4 out of the closet and raced it for the first time a month or so ago. Even though the car is 9 years old and i havent driven in 7, i TQ'd under a phenominal driver with a BJ4 by .5 seconds. The xx4 has great capability and couldnt even imgagine it with the x-5 conversion. This will be my next purchase since i need a new chassis. (mine still has the solid graphite first release chassis).
For my unbiased opinion, check with your local hobby store and find what parts they carry. Whether you go with a BJ4, BJ4 WE, xx-4, x-5, etc......they are all great cars. some might have slight advantages over the other, but in the end, the driver is what makes the car.
Sonce your just bashing, buy a used car from the classifieds, or ebay and rebuild it. Keep in mind, if you dont have electronics...you will have to buy those as well.

Ebay is cool for some things, but if I'm gonna get an rc car used, I'd rather get it locally.
I ordered the BJ4 WE. My mind is still sizzling from all the info going through it.
It was a toss up between the MRC SB v2 Pro and the BJ4 WE and I think the only thing that give the nudge to the BJ4, is the age of the car (been on the shelves longer than the SB v2 Pro) and parts are suppose to be combatible with AE. My local hobby shop carries lots of AE parts.
The X-5 would have been a bit too much work to get to. If I already had a xx-4 or xxx-4G, or knew someone locally selling one, I would have went that route.
Hopefully, I can assemble it ok. I haven't assembled a car in a while.
I thought about the saddle-pack issue and well, i guess it won't be too bad. I still have my t1R, I can swap battery packs with it.
I think this has been an excellent thread and I thank you all for your valuable input.

I got both my XX-4 and my BK2 off of Ebay. Both are in phenominal shape and were very well taken care of by guys that have been into RC's for over 15 years. I have 4 RC's now and 3 of them have been bought used from people that took very good care of them.

My opinion The BJ 4wd is the best out there right now. The Losi skips belts like a school girl jump roping. The Kyosho is what I have and its the closes to the BJ 4wd. I have an extra Lazer if you want to try it out for $220 and its only been run 3 race nights. Instead of paying $400-$500 for something you havent tried. Also the Kyosho has a conversion kit that makes it a mid motor 4wd like the BJ.
