Hi, I've been wondering whether if anyone have built themselve a homemade EP buggy???

Its sounds kinda cool.

Any ideas or projects in mind???

Go for it, flat cf plate chassis with battery slots might be a start?

Well CF plate is way out of my league. Perhaps aluminium plate instead.

How about the tranny???

Aluminum would be too heavy. It isn't that hard to get hold of just look around, and your bound to find some..

As far as the tranny Id definately use the 2.6 AE trans. Its proven and bulletproof.

i've made a 4wd buggy out of my yokomo mr4tc-sd sedan with use of b4 arms and bj4 front arms and mr4 bc hubs and xxx-4 shock towers etc.. anyways it was a fun project. actually worked good.hahaha

no i dont have it anymore i sold it. it was pretty sweet looking with all the ssg graphite on it though.

This is completly possible and I would love to see it done, I am an avid R/C plane builder/flyer, alot I will build from scratch,and it is quite rewarding...How bout laying something out in carbon tow, like a monocoque type chassis with the shock towers as part of the chasis... oh no now my mind is working heres a scratch plane of mine: http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showt...12#post3554612

Well c/f is quite expensive to use for a project your not even sure will work out, may I suggest G-10 garolite... it's almost as rigid as C/F, weights a little more and is way less expensive... check out.... http://www.mcmaster.com/param/asp/ps...7610;101=46159


search around a little and you can find all kinds of building materials you may want/need......
