The Losi Race at Hurricane RC is now gas only and in Jan. The electric Losi Race will be held in Vegas(I think).
As far as the demise of electric 1/10 racing, it seems to just be Florida.

imagine a quick change battery setup with lipo's........then we could run 1 hour mains with nitro.

i reckon a quick change battery system wouldnt be that hard although i just run 12 000 mah but weighs 545g but imagine that thats like a 20min race nitro watch out but i think youd fry a motor a run unless u ran soft but then thats the idea of endurance look after your equipment so u finish and hopefully win

I do not see why people are having problems running longer than 5 minutes myself. When I run for practice I usually run a full 3800 pack which is about 10 minutes. My motors all come off the track around 160 to 180 degrees. If you are having overheating problems look at your gearing or driveline for binding. Too many people just gear for 5 minute runs! With Lipo and correct gearing 15 minutes should not be a problem.

Our track just opened up in June and it started as almost all nitro (from the converted bashers). Every race, we get more and more electric. Last weekend, we had full heats of novice electric, stock truck, 2wd mod and 4wd mod. A lot of people are liking the hassle free racing of electric. We are also pulling 80 to 90 entries per race day. Not bad for a 3 month old track.

1/10 scale electric stadium truck is our most popular class

Here in the US we have a problem with going with the easy way out. 1/10 scale off-road nitro racing was huge but you ask most off-road racers why they don't race this class and they say it is to hard to drive, so 1/8 scale became popular. Battery, tires and all of that other stuff did stop racers from racing electric off-road, it is much easer to drive a 12lb buggy than a light weight electric buggy. I would not blame the decline of electric off-road to our racing equipment but to our not willing to try things that are hard to do.

gijoe, i think you nailed it. The nitro buggies and trucks are easier to drive and make cool noise.
I like my B4 buggy BECAUSE it's so hard to friggin control. I'm not doing this to have the easiest time driving, I'm doing it to get have fun, which means give me a challenge.
I was usually the only 2wd buggy at our track, racing against trucks or 4wd. Lately, more guys have been bringing out some buggies though.
This winter will be cool, indoor offroad electric only. All class participation should pick up then.

1/10th buggy being "dead" or "alive" can change in less than an hours journey.
Round my way (Newcastle) there is no regular buggy racing. Travel 40 miles to Middlesbrough and it's thriving - in fact it's difficult to find anyone who isn't racing a B4!

is dead because you want it to be.Like sosidge said less than a hours drive can change it.Even if you want to race at a certain track,Post on the FLA
thread about it & get a few to go out & it will catch on.

Now with 4200's and lipo getting ready to take off. The rules need to be adjusted to fit the times....once that happens electric will be alot easier to sell....
