Stuff like this is very hard to say one way or the other, because each geometry has different optimal ranges. Im still running essentially b6.2 geo with 75mm arms, As do many factory team drivers at least in mod. Stock fast drivers are a toss up.

77mm or 79mm arms may be the best stuff ever, but only if other things are changed. They might be terrible if the only change to the b6.4 was say 79mm arms, so if that was tested everyone that drove it would say its terrible. But changing other things to optimise how rolls centers move and react makes a better setup.

Thats why they started from scratch and it looks like front and rear piviots are now much narrower. But obviously basically every thing else is changed to go along with it.

Which to me is exciting. After years with the B6.1-4 Ive gotten bored. I've been tempted to try the new schumachers as they are quite different. The B7 seems like that kind of change, now I hope theres a similar 4w thats maybe not shaft driven in the works too.....

truer words haven’t been spoken. I got bored of my b6 (had the .2, .3 and .4) platform and actually picked up a LD3s to play with the other day, I will be building it this weekend. I’m excited to see what the b7 has to offer and will likely be picking one up when they’re released.

I like my b6.4. I'll pick up the new car, and race both until I can get the new one faster. Then the old one will be good spare parts for my sc6.4 and t6.4. Nothing like a freshie after more than a year of racing.

The B74.2 is about a year old right? Might see one more 74.x before they think about a B84 (not to be confused with the 8B4)

we aren’t talking about the b74 here… I’m not a AE wheeler fan for some specific reasons.

In my (limited) experience with setup, change A isn’t good because you went direction A instead of direction B, it’s good because it was better for the rest of your settings and “window” you are setup in or near. Much like a house has multiple windows, setups do too. Sometimes you have to build a new room/addition to the home to find a new window and that’s what they’re attempting to do with the B7. Sounds like it’s a better window, but time will tell.

Most people weren’t running both of the narrow blocks on carpet with the 6.3/4, only the narrow D block from the 6.1. This was mainly to get less rear toe in the car, to get more steering, which you couldn’t do with the stock 6.3/.4 blocks.

I found it interesting that Kurt said the b6.4 body will not fit the b7 without a ton of lexan hacking. And now seeing a b7 body painted it’s obvious the rear is much more bulged out. I’m thinking they layed the trans out a bit more to get the motor further forward, and possibly shifted the spur closer to the edge of the chassis to get the motor mounted center of the chassis

When 1up released pictures of recent signing Sammy Moran I thought that his F2 looked a bit off. I didn't look closely, but it may have been a bulked out B7 version.

Nah, just some uncorrected lens distortion in the shot making the car look wider than it actually is. Its 100% a B6.4 with an F2 body.

Seems like the motor mount is what the willspeed cars have for 3 generations, motor position also seems more centered, all good things. Those cars are awesome anyways!
