Default Popularity of E truggy?

1/8th scale ebuggy is here to stay. Easily the most popular outdoor off road class. We only get out our nitros, for 3 day events now.

Will truggy follow suit? Or do you think Etruggy will eventually die off like SCT has? Do you feel like your investment in Truggy was worth it?

Out here etruggy is pretty much dead. 1/8 buggy and 1/10 4wd buggy are by far the biggest classes. Funny thing up here is 4wd sct is making a comeback - ~20 cars in class now - with over half being Teknos.

I love the e-truggy, but they are just so big. I don't believe there are too many tracks that are comfortable to race these on.

At my local tracks, 10th scale truggy is by far more popular than 8th scale truggy.

Well, I'll never run 1/10th offroad ever again. If I want to run indoors, I'll run carpet on road.

There's no way 1/10th truggy is sticking around. Talk about a class that shouldnt have been invented.

I just don't want to invest $2000 in a 1/8 Etruggy, and then the class dies again in a couple years.

I don’t think etruggy will die out. Short course died for a bunch of reasons that truggies doesn’t suffer from. Of course you’ll need to make your own decision based on the area you race. For my area, racing is slow regardless (in terms of entries), but I’ve never brought my etruggy and not been able to race it. There are some outspoken haters, but I’ve never met someone that didn’t enjoy driving one.

Most of the hate, IME, was the throttle jockies from years ago. (Assuming a proper 1/8 track, not some lil 10th scale toy track)

WOT, right into a pipe and flip, then full throttle in the marshals hands, pulling a wheelie after hitting the ground. Right into another epic crash just 20 feet later. Extra hilarious when their first wreck drew all the marshals, and now there's nobody to flip them, where they crashed the 2nd time.

Most of those jabronies have died off, or moved on.

Now they're just bigger buggies that never need marshaling.

It's pretty popular in the southeast where I used to live. Here in Arkansas there is only one outdoor off-road track and they are pretty much e-buggy and e-truggy. mostly w/ a side of nitro.

It may not be for racing but my Losi E-Truggy is the best basher car I have ever owned. I did it right and put the biggest 4S motor and ESC Hobbywing make in it, and its a blast. 53mph down the cul-de-sac according to my little GPS taped on the body. My neighbor hates it... because his kid loves it.

Our local track sees more etruggies than nitro buggies, and it's a big track.

Here in Indiana/Ohio outdoor, it seems like eTruggy is on par with nitro buggy. Entry count is usually eBuggy has the most, then eTruggy or nitro buggy, then novice, nitro truggy and 4wd SCT. And we often run Novice and 4wd SCT together.

Yep! at my local as well there is a mix of 8th scale E-buggy and E-truggy and cant wait to join them. Have a pretty decent mix of all 1/10 and 1/8th. No Nitro though..

Going to need a bigger car to transport my gear

Have you ever ran a 10th scale truggy? It is by far my favorite class. Its essentially a lighter weight ebuggy as far as size dimensions go. I dont think its going anywhere because its such a versatile class.. can be run on a 8th scale outdoor track, 10th scale indoor clay, carpet, etc.

Yeah. It was cute on indoor, or covered clay.

There's no point in running them outdoors when 1/8th is so much better. It's just another 1/10th money sink. Im lucky that I didn't get duped into that class.

One of our local tracks is 1/8 only now. Its glorious. Only 2-3 classes.
