Default Thanks

I was wondering what went wrong, was hoping that its not a problem with the gears being soft.
Originally was wounding if i had the shims correct ont the rearend gears or if the o-ring on the rear diff was not tighten down anofe to smash o-ring making the gears have to much play, but i found a screw behind the spur gear backed out and was stopping the spur gear so on power probably stressed the rearend diff gears.

I noticed after 2 runs to check all the screws. They like to get a little loose.

The following Trishbits YouTube videos feature the CAT L1 Evo but should be helpful for the CAT L1R.

Having ran the L1R with the aluminum vs graphite chassis on grey office carpet - my preference is graphite chassis which felt more ‘in the carpet’ as opposed to ‘on the carpet’ with the aluminum. With the Vertical Top Deck design of the L1R I’d like to see an enhancement to make the VTD a little siffer. Directionally, I prefer graphite so far.

The current VTD is surely more tuned for the aluminum chassis. (If) When Schumacher releases tuning options for the graphite chassis - that should be a solid solution for the L1R.

The carbon chassis flexes more than the aluminum one but not that much more. My carbon L1 Evo chassis flexes like a wet noodle in comparison lol

for people running this car in the states , how is parts availability? I know my local hobby shop does not carry it and Amain seems to have a lot of backorder parts...

The Carbon chassis has more rotation for me by flexing, plus it is a lot lighter, which is a plus 13.5 on high grip clay.

DiscountRC has many of the parts available.

Lately I've been ordering parts from either DiscountRC or straight from Schumacher in England, order gets here in 3 days! That's faster than A Main, which is just crazy to me lol

Agreed. The shipping from England is amazing - even cost compared, it gets here faster.

Schumacher direct has great customer service. I wish the exchange was better between USD and the Pound.

Schumacher seems to be gaining a lot of traction (excuse the pun) here in the U.S.!

I feel they are making headways again. In the 80's and 90's many in WNY were running the CAT at the tracks, it was a great, but complicated car. I still have my Schumacher 1/12th scale pan car from the late 80's! I feel the company has lost its's way in the late 90's 2000's in the US. Now with the new products coming out, and with signing some US drivers, I see the brand making a decent comeback .I can say from my point of view, I am faster and more consistent with the L1R than I have been with the Shaft driven cars. The LD2 I am using now I am starting to feel more comfortable with it, making some progress, into the A's with it.
