Schumacher CAT L1R

anyone know schumacher cat L1R dirt kits ??

There are no dirt kits. I am running my L1R on High grip clay currently. I am using Brock's world warm up setup. I was using Neuman's L1 setup prior on my L1R, but I figure I would try Brocks and tweak from there. Both can be found on Petit's site.

How are people use the f.a.b? Do you like it tight or loose? My car likes to nose dive if i let off throttle. I know some of it has to do with the belt drive. Just trying to get ideas for testing. Thanks

When I spoke with Broc last year he runs his FAB pretty much locked down since he runs mod and that's how he likes it. For 13.5 he adjusted mine much freer, still a bit of tension but nothing major. A lot of it is personal preference, setup and track conditions. Basically the looser the FAB the less front brake so you can kick out the rear end under braking and rotate quicker. If your front is diving just letting off the throttle I'd say your belts are too tight or there is a bind elsewhere in the drivetrain.

I tried both, Running 13.5, I did not like it looses, I felt I did not have much of brakes, but did not like it tight either, as the car slowed right down, un predictable to me. I have been adjusting it until I like it where the brakes are engaging.

Couple Q’s on my new build…
For the front driveshafts - can I assume that the ROCHE options provide more steering than the stock units? Are folks running them just on the fronts or front/rear on carpet?
With the option aluminum chubs it seems that the machined area for the bearing is oversized, the bearing literally falls out on both sides of the chub. I would have expected a tighter tolerance to minimize any unnecessary play. Mitigated it with a small film of CA - seems to be better but I would have expected a better fit from the factory.
TIA

Concerning roche driveshafts, they fits only front end, after testing back to back, roche drive shafts tame the steering while the stock one keeps steering more alive. At least that’s my feeling, my local track is astroturf on an old tennis court, so it’s flat and the grip is variable due to dust, moist, temperatures, overall medium grip with sometimes roll grip.

If using the double joints-be sure to check the used screw lengths in the hub assembly. We had some failures at extreme flexes ,most likely when the c-clip hits the screw ends in the hub.

Where are you guys buying kits and parts? Is discountrc still a good site to order?

Based on the LiveRC results, it appears the Schumacher team drivers performed well.

I mean I really really love belt driven buggy but I always assumed they were slower on dirt since there's no center diff option... I still race my 22-4 2.0 because of the smoothness of the belt layout.
But this IFMAR is really tempting me to finally upgrade my 22-4 for a L1R for clay...
I'm blown away at the results.
