U4 Racing

I enjoyed my DB48 quite a bit as well. Hard to beat Tekno for their durability and overall quality.

Anybody know if the new Losi Tenacity DB Pro is a valid U4 contender?

So this is a good question and something that I'm looking at as well.
I have heard of a few people running it in a 1.9" class for U4, but I'm not sure that's an official class. In layout, its just a smaller version of the Lasernut. The wheel base is shorter and the tires are not as tall. I'm thinking of building one, but it's gonna be interesting in the rock gardens. I'm somewhat concerned that it will get hung up quite a bit in the rocks due to the smaller tires ( compared to the Lasernut ). On our track, tires under 130mm sit the Lasernut a bit too low and I find myself hitting many more rocks embedded in the track's surface as well as having a harder time working through the rock garden. On a smoother, less technical track, I can't see any problems with the DB Pro and I feel it would be a nimble little machine.

I am coming from mostly racing 2WD buggies...and this thing looks a LOT like a 1/8 4WD buggy. If I digged enough, I bet I could find that it is based on a TLR 8IGHT-X. I think that design is very solid, very adjustable.
Really wish it was available as a slider, w/o electronics.

It appears similar but it’s all scaled down. Lots of information in the DB Pro thread here about parts interchange with the SCTE series. I have an SCTE 3.0 that I love, but I don’t know how it would hold up to larger tires, more weight, and constant impacts.
