My Laps Transponder needing repaired.
#1
Anyone out there capable of fixing a transponder? Wires are loose under the epoxy. So it will need disassembled, Repaired, and reassembled.
pick just to show location.
if I hold the wires correctly in the right spot it works. If not it doesn’t.
thanks

i have fixed them it not hard, but you need to take your time the hole transponder in epoxy dipped before its installed in the case. this requires braking the epoxy back little by little to not damage the chip. you should not half to go more then 1/4 in to then right around the bottom of the numbers to hit the board. then your just about there to resolder.
if this is to much stress you can send it in to mylaps for a replacement. but there replacement is like 20 off the price of a new one and they want your old one in working order (a joke to me). i'd just buy a new one mylaps, mrt or what transponder are still compatible. the right off the malfunctioning one as broken. that way if im not able to fix it or if I don't get around to fixing it. im not crying over spilled milk.
sorry about your luck tho.
