Does anyone know if the hd ballcups from the 5.0 kits will work on the T's? I was trying to find the closed end hd ballcups and found part # TLR234107. They're both for the 4.8mm studs according to the manuals.

Yes, the balls will pop in them just fine. Just make sure the ends are of similar offset as the 22T ones. The front camber and steering links have offsets on them for clearance, and I don't know if the 5.0 ones are the same offset.

What size motor and brand do you recommend?

One more question.
I have a 22 4.0 buggy. My gear diff it loose in the case. Is there shim (size?) to fit over outdrives?

Thanks for the advice. Much appreciated!

Default Setup

Anyone have a good starting setup for the upcoming turf season? I looked at the TLR site & petitrc and came up empty so far.

Reno Savoya posted one on his Facebook page. I will test it this weekend. He runs the steering and Ackermann arms from the 5.0 Buggy. I tried to mount the 5.0 steering but it didn't work...so I will try only with the 5.0 Ackermann arms. Maybe I will do the "flip the bell crank mod" next time.

I posted Reno's setup to our site, it just hasn't quite gone live yet. Check back there over the next couple of days.

Hello,
Reno was using the 5.0 servo arm. A small modification was necesary : material trimming on the bulkhead .
Have a nice week-end

I used the 5.0 servo horn, too. I think my servo sits in a more forward position than Reno's, it rubs and binds everywhere. I assume the dremeling on the front bulkhead is the same as if I run the 4.0 steering flipped, did this on my 4.0 Buggy.
Did run the #6 Ackermann yesterday and it was much better, even with the standard steering. The steering feel is much more calm, reminds me of the TLR234007 spindles I used to run on my Buggy .

Just picked up a used 22t 4.0.
Any of you use velcro instead of the standard body clips?
I might make a velcro bar for the front end and put it on thingiverse...

Is the Frank Root setup is the go to for clay?
I want to make sure im setup well before I commit to a certain driving style. I am pretty stoked that he comments here, you don’t see the product managers at AE commenting on their threads... that I know of.

I have this same issue with the gear diff, there is a bit of back and forth play in the transmission.

For the body velcro, I wouldn't expect that to hold. I would suggest body clips for sure.

As for the go-to setup, I think that really depends on who you ask. I haven't run a ton of truck lately, so I don't have anything new to send out myself.

We sell some shims. Make sure there is some side to side play. If there isn't any... your tranny is bound up.

good. Just picked one up to go with my 22 5.0 ac which I’m finally very happy with. Working with the guys from Vision racing to try and get the 5.0 rack to fit. Once that’s done, it will be awesome. It’s already good now just going to try using the Ackerman arms from the 5.0 to calm it down. We run on a very tight indoor high bite grey ozite carpet track. Going to AE v2 Orange/37.5 front, AE v2 yellow rear 32.5 felt great.
