Setting up a 1/10 Touring Car for Dirt Oval
Curious on what it will take to set up one of these for dirt oval, there was a place in my area that ran them with latemodel bodies about 10 years ago. They ran foam or silcone tires if i remember right. Does anything have to be done to the car to run on dirt? I have never owned a touring car.

20 years ago we ran gas touring cars on dirt ovals. They were a blast. There were no bodies the proper width so we ran regular dirt oval bodies of the time. Wedge type with side dams.
If someone is running the class, see what they are running.
Are there wide kits for a touring car nowadays? . One of the issues of the past was that they were narrow. Not just a body issues, but also a handling issue.
We ran foams mostly on the gas touring cars back in the day. If the track is a tacky clay, silicones will probably work as well.

We ran touring cars at Southside Speedway in Rochester, MN. No special rules, touring car bodies, stock motor. Any tires most used rubber touring car tires. The sprint cars used foam, and foam was available, but no touring car guys were running them. I ran a McAllister late model body and did get an IMCA body to fit. but there were really no rules, and just the one track for me locally. They are different version of the Custom Works Dominator which was a very popular class in the early 90's. Good Luck.
