so I pickedup a scx10 that has paddle tires and a 1970 bronco body.....I am gonna try n see if I can make this body work on the sawback....I will have to make special body mounts that sit up much higher.....sorry about Mojave body...I can still send you those rock creeper tires we spoke about. Theyare just over 3.85 inches which are definitely smaller....You let me know....BTW...jus call me dave....

Nope, still running stockers here. Wouldn't mind going to some internally sprung oil filed at some point to give a bit better damping so it doesn't bounce as much.

Had a crack at the chino mod last night, used some fuel tubing inside the leaf eyelet. Haven't had a chance to try it out properly yet, but it feels better on the bench. Also flipped the c-hubs while I was at it to add some caster.

so does flipping the C hub add some steering? I have the alum ones and I hope it will help...I actually have the alum steering link and unwound to create positive toe which helps with ackerman.....I will try the c hub inversion. Also thinking of making the shackle mount pivot rather than the leaf itself. So the whole assembly would pivot off the chassis...seems like a more durable way to go....I also have a set of HR air/spring 100mm shocks. Gonna raise top mount 10mm since shock body is bigger. That way it wont restrict the articulation on shock compression but you get advantage of 10 mm longer extention......breaking in shocks off the vehicle. The bottom nylon seal that holds in the O rings is WAY to tight and inhibates travel.....

I run stock SCX shocks w/o springs in place of the kit shocks. 60wt oil if i remember correctly. Works great, and cheap to boot.

I also flipped the C's, not so much more steering, but a better caster angle.

Best mod I made were anti-wrap bars, connecting the axle to the trans mount. No more bent springs!

No pics per-se, but can see it poking its nose in,....Bronco fest.

Made my own leaf springs today from a snowmobile pull cord spring. Turned out great got the rears on and are just a bit stiff but work great! Super awesome that these can be made at home. Fronts will be put on at later date those are still in decent shape.

Chino mod def works I did it to my old ones and the ones I just built just don't take to much off it makes the loop weak.

So I did serious maiden voyage with my son and his as well....So my mod of using the diamond plate alum for dif plate works well but gets bent around...lol....My licence plate is toast. Used my wench to pull out my sons but while winding up it got off spool and jammed. 10 min fix at home...easy to dismantle. Wench needs alum face guide though...stock is cheap and bends easily......I think it s available. SO for the leaf springs. Running the red RC4wd soft....NO GO....WAYYYYYY to bouncy.....even with running the smallest stock one on top. I have my sons running just the large main and nothing else and he did great. I am running the tekin 35t and my sons the holmes hobby 35t. His has WAY more torq on hills but mine is fast. So May change pinion. NO LIGHTS ON KIDS VEHICLES....taillights and fogs all busted on rollovers on hills we shouldn't have been scaling....LOL...He rolled 10 times! He loved it so that's what counts. All lights come out except fogs on front bumper. My truck lost bumper mounts and front tires hitting so I am cutting off 5/16th of an inch of both sides....Articulation on both trucks on large 8-10in cobble dry creekbed no problem(but again mine super bouncy). We had to soft a tire for coming up the run off gullies. SOft awesome on dry grass inclines and rocks but sucked on dirt.....Battery must go up front....They rigs sooooo much fun....Dave(minion driver) got a severe headache from a couple of roll overs. My son had a blast so that was the goal. Now I get to wrench a couple of hours to get things back to par....what I love......
