Art: mod rubber sounds compelling.... just don't get your hopes up.
We'll work on the traction. I do think that we have room to improve, though I thought the traction was actually very good for the majority of the day.....I dont think we need any additional hardware to get the job done, just lots more water then we originally started with. If anyone has a tow behind water trailer, that would be best.

Art, We do have an electric pump with hose and sprayer in the trailer. So if we want to try something different, we have that option. We used this method in Greeley for the two races we ran last season prior to going inside on the carpet.
However, I think the applicator that REV put together will be much more consitant once we get the ratio of sugar to water down. I would also guess that the surface will get better each race even if it rains or snows between. Each time we blow off the surface we get the little rocks and stuff that is down in the pores of the pavement. Also the sugar gets into these same areas and with each treatment gets a little better (found this when I ran my own track).
I do agree with REV that we need some help with the water, as we probably need 2-3 barrels using this methoud. If sprayed, one might get it done.
See everyone early Sunday.

Grenade-Sounds good practicing on Lincoln's layout only 3 or 4 weeks away We'll have to figure out how to shorten the straight to accomodate the Electric TC's, but I'm sure it can be done...
Smoke81-I've heard the same thing about root beer, we used grape soda at a local parking lot track recently. And it seemed to work well, thanks for the input

Traction
No offense, but it seemed to me that there was more traction in the spots where there was no sugar put down. The sugar water just left a shiny glaze down that was slippery. If anything more sugar and water is the wrong direction. Just My $.02.

you guys do such a rockin job with the track and layouts...thank u.....question about the sugar water the biggest thing that the sugar water is suppose to do is to hold the fine dust in the pores down to a min.......its very crutial to actually spray the whole area before the boards go down then the dust is semi trapped and traction can rise from there as the track cleans itself with tires running on the surface ....just drench it with ur mix and let it dry ...it will dry and then we will participate in some competition....lol

I cut the ball of my hand pretty bad yesterday at work. I'm not sure what my status is for tomorrow. I'll come out either way, but don't know if I'll be able to race, and definitely won't be able to lift much. I still need to get the car ready, which is hard with only one opposable thumb. :-)
