Hey everybody.

Sorry I havent been on alot lately. Work has sucked lately.

I have working on a race day operations procedure, and a way to break-up the work to get the track down and picked back up.

Grenade-when are you going to montana?

Well, we ran into a wrinkle on racing in Greeley next weekend.

In talking with the DDA (Downtown Development Association) who organizes things in downtown Greeley, Don's did not provide insurance to them this year and was an item of contention. So having Don's organize the race is out.

I have left a message for and sent an e-mail to ROAR to see how quickly we can get insurance coverage, and if we can do this with out having our Federal ID number.

I'll probably know more on Monady, but there is a good chance that we may not be able to use that lot. Anyone "OWN" a lot we could use??? or do we want to wait until all the insurance is in place?

Grenade - I think that we should have our insurance in place before running any events. Just to be on the safe side.

So, I beleive you would not want to spend the evening drinking with Fb/Fx and stay in the parking lot!!

No I agree with this thought. The city is really PEAVED at Don's, so we need to make this work, as that is who wanted an RC race at Island Grove last year. Me thinks, we could slide into that position!!!

Funny what can come together if you try!!

We received our Fed ID # today - FB/Fx has it and is working on the checking account.

I talked to ROAR and they have our application, we are just working out how to get them the funds on Monday, which would allow them to get the paper work back to us by Wednesday. The insurance company should be able to get us the insurance certificate on Thursday or Friday!!!

So let's see, but it is looking much more possible!

I don't need a million dollar insurance policy to sit in the parking lot and drink beer with FB/FX.

Mark, The Island Grove race was put on during the weekend that the Karting series comes to Greeley. It is awesome and even had tv coverage. The organizers are very motivated about having the r/c race there also.

We got hosed this year when we had to move the track to a tiny area at the last moment due to a change in the track for the karts. While there I spoke to one of the organizers who assured me that next summer we will have a prime spot on a parking lot that is just now being repaved.
There were also a couple of kart racers that race onroad r/c tell me that next year they hope to race r/c while they're in town.

The only negative is that seeing the shifter karts go by pushing 100mph made me want to sell all the r/c stuff for a kart

Lee - I've spent an evening drinking with FB/FX, !,000,000 coverage may not be enough!!!

FB/FX - SWEET!!

Wall Banger - Dual Roll to start with. Chairman of the board and President, but only till January.

Gary - See if you can get a contact for the carting event. We should do 2 or 3 special events next summer.

so i may need help from any and all in locating a spot to run on in oct. I have a couple of leads, but still waiting to hear back. trying to find a spot that is large enough, smooth enough, away from houses, and available! is more difficult then i thought. too many rules and lawsuits anymore. sucks. and all the open spaces that used to be dirt are now houses.

i think we should begin in earnest talking to city's and counties about getting a dedicated track. I'll start working on this, but would appreciate any help. maybe we could get people who live in other city/counties to start talking to thier respective city halls? l've talked to a guy at my work who was the originator of the disk golf courses, and he said it is typically a 2-3 year process to get results. i think it is worth it, but we should start the process now. i'll begin @ arvada city hall and see what they can work out up at the lutz/stenger complex off 54 and kipling....................
