No, we have a heathly 1/8th scale heat also.

Artwork... if the majority of electric guys want it, seems fair.

I think that we should run Triple A-mains for the Electric class. It just does not seem fair that the nitro class runs 20 minute A-mains. We all pay the same entry fee and I was hoping to get simular track time.

Well what do you think?

Let the flaming begin!

-No I am not going to buy a nitro car (OK maybe some day)
-No I am not complaining just was trying to make it fair for all racers.

They did this for us at the fireball classic Kinda helps ease the pain of racing for 5 mins and marshaling for 30+min main

I'm on your side with this Artwork. Two votes from me, one from each arm. If I could hold up both legs and arms at the same time it would be 4.

I was pretty sure that you had held back on what you were thiniking.

I'm interested if you want more race time, or just more track time? Since most people are running Lipo's and brushless. How quick between runs could you be ready? Could you run do this: 5min race, 2min break, 5min run, 2min break and final 5min run. This would take the same 20min as the nitro cars?

The other option would be to run the lipo's which if your at the 5000+ range could run a 10min main. We're up to 8min on the vintage TA and 10 is very possible on 4 cells with brushless.

Part of the time in racing is getting one group off the track and another on, so with longer run times, or same car with a small break and back on you get your run time with out really adding hours to the race day.

Just my thoughts.

Hey, You could get some pratice for the 48min enduro at HT Westy with the multiple packs, and just eliminate the 2min breaks and go for a full 20min.

[QUOTE=Big KAT;4515415]No, we have a heathly 1/8th scale heat also./QUOTE]

It also appears that there will be a few more cars on the 22nd. I'm delivering tires and an arbor to another racer.

I'm also dusting off a Serpent 835 4wd car that I really have never raced, just played with in years past. It might not have the speed of the 1/8 scale cars, but should really be fun.

I was thinking about responding to this fabulous post with all of the reasons why it would be fair for the electric class to get some similar track time and then I realized that most of the people in this club really don't care. It does not seem reasonable to me to have to go out and buy yet another $1000 R/C car just so I can get the same fairness and equality that the nitro classes get. I spend enough money on this damn hobby, plus nitro and I do not get along very well.

Maybe if we made the nitro A-main 5 minutes most of the Nitro cars would finish, that would be a sight to see! (Couldn’t resist)

Oh well I am going to file this response in a very special category and see if anyone else has something positive to say.

Until then I will be over here fomenting discontent!!!!

You can run an electric summer or winter. The nitro only guys are limited to 1/2 the year. I would think the cheap outdoor rent helps to support the more expensive indoor rent. Plus in the summer the turnout should be better. If you want to run your car indoors Ft Collins has a nice carpet track that is open in the summer or what about the Thursday practice at MOHR??

Actually, I'm really enjoying the outdoors, and the racing I've done there so far. I was just being facetious. The outdoor club races are very cool, but they're not terribly conducive to electric racing. It's a huge track, and very long day for 20 minutes of wheel time. I love the club, and will support it however I can, but jumping into nitro isn't on my list of things to do anytime soon. There's a huge disparity in the amount of driving time electric guys get, and their practice time is much shorter. Yet, we need to be there just as early, marshal just as much, and stay just as long. I realize that's what it takes to make it work, but that's what it feels like, work.
