Also is there going to be much interest in 12th scale this year during the club races do you think? The only reason I ask is I only have my 12th scale....the TC is gone.

One last question....is the mini class running the ORCA brushless system for club racing?

Thanks Greg G
I am only running 1/12th this year. I just got my AE 12R5.2 from Race Tech Hobbies so I hope there will be lots of 1/12th. I would like to run 10.5 boosted if everyone is on board.

if there are numbers, I'd love to watch 1/12 open, and 17.5blinky 1/12

I wish I would have known about this, I would have made some efforts in helping to find a new venue for the race... this sucks!

No trophies and pay a little more. Its not like its a cheap hobby anyways. The more the cars sit the more expensive they become.

Not enough grip for 1/12 open, but if people want to do it im game (but with a 10.5)

1/12th 17.5 blinky is painful

Default 12th scale

I'm in for running a faster 12th scale class. Maybe as far as 10.5 or 13.5 or 17.5, the motor limit can be voted on by the people running 12th scale this year at the club?

Was saddened to get your message about the Big Chill.

Of course every race has their own challenges, rent, venue, volunteers, etc. I know at least 3 of the other races pay +$2500 for venue rental, so it's not out of the ordinary, while other clubs don't pay anything, or its just part of their regular monthly lease. That's why every race sets it's own entry fees.

All I can offer is that of course WCICS is totally open to you setting whatever price you need to keep in the black. And/or if you can find another venue, at any other date before the end of March 2013, at any city in Western Canada, we'd be happy to race there!

For the Jaco's, like Korgae said they're specifically for WCICS races, that's the deal with Jaco, same deal as IIC or Snowbirds. They're not just to sell and undercut the local stores; that would be a good way to anger the LHS and ensure they don't carry Jaco's.

And the bottom line is that we only make about $2 per set of Jaco's, to keep the price to the racers as low as possible. So with the 50-60 sets the Chill usually uses, we're talking about a whole $100 anyway, nothing that would have bought click track.

So if you want to just raise the entry fee and keep it at the Hobby show, or keep looking, and if you find another venue and/or another date, we'd all be happy to see the race back on. If not, hopefully you can find something by next year.

With all the interest in saving the Big Chill, will OGR persue this?

-Based on-

No trophy's
Higher fees

$2500 might seem steep for rent, but other trophy races pay this or more for there venues. ( 60 guys, racing 2 classes ($40 1st $20 second is $3600.00)
I think 120 enties total is a good guess..

Is there other concerns OGR has that we can address and maybe come up with a solution...

It's a shame.. isn't this like the 10th year?

Lets save this race
