I'll make an appearance at Go R/C Tomorrow around 1, Remember this Combo is available to those that are racing in the Big Chill...WCICS Round 1...Thats the reason for the Special Price....Will be available at Hobby Shops in the not too distant future...$119.99 plus tax
Just installed the Spark on my mini and see that you can switch to different profiles. Are we allowed to change or use the other profiles for the Chill or the whole WCICS series?
And is a ESC fan available for it or do we even need one for Mini?
Thanks.

It dosn't realy matter which profile you are in. The motor is sensorless. Witout a sensor input the esc is always 0 timing. Its like taking the sensr wire off of a boosted esc...defaults to zero. Everyone is equal. I'd only recomend a fan if running a 10.5 or less on the Spark.

Does that mean that it will blink in whatever profile you chose because its sensorless. Pretty sure the tech will require the blinking to be present and I thought the instructions state that only profile one offers this option.

The blinking light is perfered of course. But not nessicary with the sensorless motor. There will be a handheld programmer @ all WCICS races to be sure everyone is on the correct mode. Profile 1 is zero timing for a sensored motor. Profiles 2 and up all add boost to sensored motors....the 2200kv is sensorless though..no timing can be added.

My understanding for the mini orca class is that the esc must be run in the spec zero boost "blinky" mode. As far as teching is concerned the purpose of this "blink" mode is for a very fast visual inspection to ensure it is in the spec "blinky" mode. The powers that be can correct me if I am wrong but if your not in spec "blinky" mode befor your run you will not be allowed to run. If not in this mode after your run when you are teched then that run will not count. This is for both qualies and mains. You can also read through this other thread for more details.
