Yes but to exclude something in rules, there needs to be a reason (not just perception). What problem do you speak of? They changed the width to make them look more scale, thats it.

Just something to think about if it does indeed become a set class. Hopefully you can keep us all abreast of the developements before the rules are forced upon us

UF1, IIC, Snowbirds, ETS, TCS, Roar all have a 190mm width rule. Only Japan where they race on foams and Aussies allow the 205mm cars. As I would like to see the class grow I wouldn't want to turn anyone away. Especial club racing, as Ivan says "who cares it's club racing". Maybe allow them for the first year or something like that to help the class grow. Not that we need to follow anyone else's rules.

My basic point is that the F103 can't be raced anywhere in a series or "big race" in North America or Europe. If ordering one today I personally would stay away from them.

Yep I totally agree with you cal, if F1 was to be a main class, a full rule set like that would be needed. But until F1 does become a main class I do hope it can be a run what you brung. Numbers is all I'd like to see. Cheers

Good point, I never really thought about 13.5 TC club racing, I was just thinking that the series could handle a little diversity in blinky, being the most popular class.
I'm sure many of the newer guys at CARCAR would love to get rid of some of the "fast guys" in 17.5 but, not sure it would work on a Friday night...we'd have to try it.

13.5 TC (Super Stock?) does line up with what's happening everywhere else.

So by opening up bodies what makes 13.5 TC different then every other TC class?

I don't think that's true at all Jim . For me , I think it's awesome that I can go to my local club every week and race with some of the best drivers in western Canada . You guys are the standard I use to gauge how I am doing . Like Aaron said , it would be a hollow victory to win the "A" main if all the fast guys moved out of the class . I also think that having almost everyone racing the same class , raises the overall skill level of the entire club . I believe I learn more chasing someone than I do when leading . I bet that if all you regular A main'ers left 17.5 for a new 13.5 class , all of us regular B main'ers would just follow you .

When VTA wants to run modern GT bodies, people said what makes it different from another TC class. What makes 13.5 different from other TC classes? It's what we ran 2 years ago, although it was boosted but... Was it a mistake to change to mod? Do we want to have 4 TC classes, CTA, 17.5, 13.5, mod... I think it would water down the number of cars and you might end up with a problem like what is happening in 12 scale.

Back in 2003 CARCAR ran Pro Stock (top drivers), Stock (everyone else), Mod (unlimited), and Novice Mod (14 turn minimum, 4 minute mains). The intent of Novice Mod was to give the non-"pro" drivers a stepping stone to Mod. It is interesting that now we are contemplating a Super Stock class that would get the top drivers out of stock. As a side note, eventually Pro Stock merged with Stock (I do not think it was due to numbers) and Novice Mod died (definitely due to lack of interest).

At the club level it would probably be better to have two deep TC classes than have three shallower ones. Deep classes reduces the range of abilities across each heat. Also, I compare my practice times to those of the top stock drivers (from the previous race night's time sheets) to see how I am doing. Removing the top people from the class artificially resets the benchmark. I wouldn't want to think I was doing better than I really was.

Although... It would be fun to watch the Ironman use 1 set of tires for 3 different classes

Don't forget about 25.5 TC for us slow guys.

Hey all, good news! I received a large box of Blitz goodies in the mail today! Wasn't expecting anything this quickly, but somebody upstairs blessed me with overnight shipping from Taiwan. I'll be bringing stuff for everyone I know will be there. If you're not going to be running this week, PLEASE let me know, so I'm not dragging around a bunch of stuff I don't need to. If you haven't paid yet, please bring some cash with you. As close as possible to exact change would be appreciated!

I'm bringing stuff for...

Erwin, Al-Noor, AJ, Tim Blackwell and Walter.

Thank you all very much! As a token of my gratitude, I've parked the M04 indefinitely, to make the track safer for all of us.
