Default weight

with all the discussion on rubber, I thought that we should discuss weight..

After reading thru the ROAR rule book, I am a little confused on how weight is measured. Also by looking at the upcoming IIC in Vegas they have stated the following

Minimum Weight:
Sedan Foam 6 cell - 1418g
Sedan Rubber 6 cell - 1525g

My question is whether this value includes the body. If someone can confirm this, that would be appreciated..

Chris, the weight is an interesting topic.. How many do you think will be able to run 1525g with rubber on carpet. This is what IIC in vegas is running in a couple of weeks.

With Lipo permitted for this year, it will be harder for some to meet this minimum. I am not worried if this is the direction we are going as I will be able to make the foam weight of 1418g with Lipo and the rubber weight of 1525g with lipo also. I haven't purchased the lipos yet, but will do so soon, prior to the start of the fall season. The lipos I plan to buy are Orions. SMC cells require modification for my type R, and this is something that I don't want to do..

As for tires, I picked up a set of the new blue's, haven't tested them out yet, but will do so soon. The yellows that I have seem to work well on carpet and have lasted a long time.

lipo is a choice im not prepared to make, i can make weight that much easier, i dont have to balance as much and i still have a ton of nimh left over that i want to burn off

until i get a team magic car (e4rs) or xray makes a lipo specific car, i will not be running lipos

sorry to just take a small piece out of what you said, but it summed it so perfectly I had to !
Li-Po is a Choice people.
There are other options for battery, the same as there are options for motor, chassis, tires, springs, bodies.. I could go on, but I think you get the idea.

I wish the season started sooner, I'm online talking about racing on a Friday night when I'd far rather be out doing it !

Team Magic E4, Hmmmmmmm.

I'm considering changing rides too..... Maybe something even more difficult to get parts for than the Cyclone. The E4 is a cool looking chassis though Chris.

How about a Top Racing Sythe or Robitronics Avid or even Schumachers MI3.5??
