Good fun practice night, altho i did more car building than driving. The new GTB performed excellent, the TC3 is showing signs of the lack of maintenance (rear diff ), and the 12th scale ran awesome. I also remembered why i need two chargers! Once the ripples in the track subside, i think we should expect some awesome racing!.

I spent some time working on Wes's new car too (new member i think?). With some rear suspension fixes, he should be very fast and very competitve, and his brushless worked faultlessly and hey, we all know new members always come first.

I have a track suggestion, its probably something thats already been brought up, I was thinking of ways to tension the carpet to make sure its flat. I thought of a few ways. The concrete doesnt take well to tape, so taping wont help much. But the end near the wall, seems like it needs to be held down tight. Ive got a few ideas on how this can be solved easily. Feel free to flame away if its been brought up before lol

And you call yourself a rc racer..... ppft lol Its the new novak brushless system. I got the 5.5 system, but i dont think we will have a field for mod so ill be putting a stock in it on friday. It runs both sensored brushless and brushed, has no limit on either and has a lower on resistance than the GTX schweet

That car of yours was pretty fast on the straight. Not too bad coming out of the corners either. Now I know why I was looking at that set up.

How much are they worth, esc and motor?

fire away on your carpet theories. promise i wont laugh. we never had problems last year with it, i think the problem was we pulled it out of the trailer on sunday and the rolls were jammed in there, plus the cold didn't help ply the rubber backing, i turnned the heat up high last night so that should help warm the rubber, but since we taped the carpet when it was cold, the rubber will expand abit when it gets warm and may move a bit, might have to retape the joints.

I picked mine up from towers, because LHS didnt have them in stock, and the price was a bit diff. Landed cost me about $250US, so works out to just under $300. Best local price was $350 + tax, and i thought a 3 day wait to save $50 wasnt bad. But yes i do support the LHS, thought id say that before someone chimes in lol.

It was surprisingly easy to drive. I have a completely wrong setup on the TC3, but the throttle response was ultra smooth, and i dont think i got anywhere near top end of the motor. I have to swap out the spur for a higher number as i dont have any smaller pinions than what i was running. The motor was getting warm, but the speedy was cold On that last run, i took 3 teeth off the pinion, and it still didnt run out of legs on the straight... did u like the barrel roll at the end of the straight, land back on wheels on the driving line and keep going? lol its the kind of thing you can only do in practice... in racing i would have bitten the end barrier lol.

Anyway developement of the brushless will be on hold as ill be putting in my Epic for friday. Now... back to work....

I loved the barrel roll. I think my jump on the straight was pretty good too. Something going that fast would've hurt.

I'll definatley be looking at getting a brushless, at least for my XXX4 for the offroad season. I wouldn't mind one for the onroad season but the guys watching me with my mod motor know that it probably isn't the greatest thing for me to get into anytime soon.

I was 1 of the potential new members, well 3 potentials really. Looks like you guys have a nice friendly club. Last night I was just observing and since then have been checking out the specs and options - no decission yet on what I will buy. We will be joining and I'm sure will take you up on the offer to ask questions before investing in electric which is new to me.

Would I be correct to assume that a stock class car is the place to start then as you progress upgrade to modified?. I've never been in a situation of having to stick to rules in the past so that is the area I will have the most questions to start with.

Hope to drop by again tomorrow to watch some close racing.
