Not sure if you are all aware, but we do have a track in Lompoc. We run 1st and 3rd Sundays of the month, have full MyLAPS system, power and water. I can tell you from experience, even on private land it takes quite a bit to get one going... Look for Lompoc Valley Race Track on facebook. It would be nice to have one in SLO so we could run a series...and have an Even weekend track

I've been trying to get somthing going through parks and rec and pretty much hit a brick wall with them.

I've been in contact with a fellow that has a constuction yard out by the airport that is planning to put a track in by mid feb. he has a space about 120x180 leveled out so far.
I'll post more info as things develope.

Where is this located? What type of surface? What classes are you planning on running and what days/times? Any info is much appreciated!

It's located at farmhouse rd. in Slo out across from the airport in Burke construction yard. Last time I saw it the lay outwas still in rough form. Some minor shaping and compacting is all that's left. When I spoke with mike the owner about a month ago he was looking for the interest from people. I'm sure once it takes off a race format will be established. Spread the word I would like to see a successful track stick around.

I went out today to check out the track. There is a nice step up in the works. I raked and shaped the back sweeper berm today. Just curios as to why there are so many berms? One on each corner. Not saying how to build, but most tracks don't have any. Seems you could use that dirt in better places. I'm going to try and make it out tomorrow and do some more shaping.
