Its been an interesting struggle getting back into 1/12th after 20 years. The whole brushless motor thing is super confusing. I had planned on getting a Schuur Speed V3 17.5 and at the last min picked a Trinity D4.. Big Mistake. Of course I find out after the fact "Oh you need the one with the High Torque Rotor".. Didn't know Trinity had 4 or 5 different versions of the same 17.5 motor.. Oh how I miss the old 27turn Stock Days........ Anyways after trying every gearing and timing combo imaginable I gave up. Maybe it might work in Touring Car???? Dave Berger suggested the R1 Wurks with a 105 rollout....WOW its a great setup and the car is fast on the straight and punchy in the infield now unlike the D4 which I had to hold wide open everywhere to get a 9.8

I want to try 13.5 soon. I actually think this class might be easier motor wise as you might have more power than the track can really handle meaning that the motor is out of the equation and its more about car setup and driving instead of getting the best motor you can buy. All i'm saying is it would be nice to vary the throttle more around the track instead of pin it to win it.....

I also burned off the first full set of Jaco Tires. I ran them full size out of the box all the way to the Glue....

hang onto the D4 and get a HT rotor for it, then you can give it a better test, or at least you won't feel like you wasted your money on it. 13.5 is definitely a kick in the pants to run otherwise.

Well this looks quite a bit different than what we have been practicing on. Love the green infields....

Will the track be open this weekend? I couldn't make it to iic this year but I would love to start learning my new 1/12th scale ASAP.
What's the popular tires in 13.5t?

regular hours this weekend.

as for 13.5 touring it's Sorex 32 or 28 all depends on who you ask.
17.5 touring it's Sweep QTS32 if you plan on racing.

and if anyone else is wondering for 1/12th scale the Ulti's X-Hard for fronts and X-Medium for rear seem to be the popular choice.

Default IIC 2014 TQ crew

Had a blast running my first (but definetly not last) IIC this week. Was a lot of fun having many fellow TQ racers around. Would encourage any F1 racers who were on the fence to run next year. The Tamiya TCS (Pit Shimizu) tires were great and did not have the traction roll issue like the Pardus tires. And TQ's Sean Park put his F1 in the A main too ! Below pic was all the TQ family running at the IIC. Thanks Sean for having a great place many of us call a second home.
