As soon as I get the dollars together I'll be sending them to Josh at Ryper and getting one sent to Melbourne - hopefully before Christmas

Sad to admit that having only just run my Losi 22 2.0 I am probably a bit more tempted to can it and grab a 3.0 than I should be. I don't often run off road anymore and by my own admission I kind of suck at it, but have never built a new 2wd Buggy before and am trying to stop the revolving door of RC cars.....

Plus converting a 2.0 to a 3.0 just isn't cost effective.

Hope the 2.0 bodies (my Proline Bulldog one) fits the 3.0 as that may just be what pushes me over.

I'd be thinking a no to the body fitting from a 2.0 to 3.0.
It looks as though its quite a bit wider.
But...you never know

I'd agree with Baden , especially since you can fit saddles side-by-side in the chassis , or a shorty across. Not unlike the B5.

Still won't dissuade me from getting one. Might just have to invest in a few more saddle packs or a few shorty packs

Guys, just noticed this thread. Happy to answer any questions you may have on the 22 3.0. Had mine for a few weeks now and absolutely love it!

And no, the 2.0 body is too narrow to fit on the wider 3.0 chassis.

You can run saddle, brick, shorty sideways and straight with the 3.0 layout so plenty of tuning options. Great when the grip levels change :-)

Can you run a 2.0 chassis on the 3.0 and use existing 2.0 bodies? Or are the chassis keyed to fit only the 3.0 front and rear assemblies?

The front end would fit, but not the rear that is totally different.

The biggest improvement to the 22 3.0 is the chassis layout due to battery config

Ok thanks for the reply, as I usually run a single super shorty I am not sure if it would be such a difference for me. May just convert the front end and steering for now

Hi Andrew,

Is shorty accross the chassis all the way back still the favoured battery configuration. What sort of surfaces have you run the 3.0 on so far.

Cheers,

Rob Thomas

Hi guys, As Gillott said, happy to help with any Info.

The Kit setup is an absolute joy. no changes so far on the first outing in perth. In saying that i didnt change anything at the nats except for battery position... such a good, rounded car.

Ryper Will have there shipment this week, Retail $460.00, Racers will get a disscount off that.

Gents, on what grip level type of track have you been running it?
Interested to know

Cheers

I assume it's a simple ESC change to make the motor run reverse with the 3 gear transmission in mid configuration?

Just trying to ascertain if it's easier to just buy the 4 gear transmission or reverse the ESC on my radio.......

You flip the motor so the pinion is on right for 3 gear. The motor still runs the same way.

Check out this motor position guide.

Mainly medium to high at this point. And from the standard setup have really just moved the battery forward on higher grip conditions. As Pain lord has said, it's a good all round machine :-)
