Dat 4WD fun hey? not that I would know
Had a blast on the track this arvo once it cleared up with the new 17.5 thanks to mick355!
Got there this morning at about 8:30, had a quick run and got the 22 caked in mud, then Matt and I pissed off to Metro. Picked up some new tyres and wheels, as well as new gears to match the 17.5. Providing I rebuild all shocks and replace a few bits this week, gonna be good to go for the cup!
Can't wait!

Hi all, need a little expert advice on setting up a 2wd SCT.
Obviously to stay within all approved models.
Been searching through A MAIN and Tower with part numbers but honestly I don't know what the best would be for ESC and motor.
Does it come down to name and higher the price the better?
Is a budget of $300 for ESC and motor too extreme?
Considering the kit will cost me $300-400 also allowing for batteries and accessories.
I'm looking at the Team Associated SC10.2 kit or Losi SCTE 2.0.
As I figure it will give me a solid start.
Any help or recommendations would greatly appreciated.

Speed Passion may still have a sale on (http://www.speedpassion.net/ausshop/) where you can save a bit. Don't be put off if you haven't heard of them, plenty of racers use them and are quite reliable from what I hear. I've just installed a 17.5 for stock buggy this weekend and went great today!
Yeah your right, my bad. got mixed up with the Losi 22SCT.
Thanks for your reply thou.

Hi.
You wont get expert advice from me..
Amain are great for parts etc, but I feel kits buying local is better.. Metro hobbies very similar price. local service
But.. Hobbyking for their Turnigy motors and batteries you cant go wrong for the price.
Until you can fully use a LRP, tekin or whatever motor, little point having one really.. for 3 times the price
ohh..Probably Speed Passion esc's from Metro hobbies or speed passion direct.
And I want a SCTE 2.0
Cheers Greg

That would give you an almost identical set up to my SC-R I'll be running in Knox cup.

Hobbywing ezrun esc & motor combo are fantastic. i got both the 4x4 & 2wd sctrucks with them. Good prices to.
You could by one of Sterlzy's Kyosho SC-R's for $200, a body shell for $50, and a speed passion motor and ESC combo for $150. All you would need then would be tyres/ batteries and a radio. And you could have it all in a couple of days!
That would give you an almost identical set up to my SC-R I'll be running in Knox cup.

And this kit : Which is Brand new too ; http://www.rctech.net/forum/australi...ced-clear.html
I have been running an SC-R, and chose it because it is all metric, and most parts interchange with my Stadium truck and Buggy which are also Kyosho.
Just bought one of the kits above last week to set up for Knox, and it comes with the best shocks in RC as standard.
