Meh, I would have to say metros parts inventory has been pretty crap lately. Hobbyman whilst not having everything does have the best parts inventory down here. You also have to be realistic about what we do. It is a niche market and the turnover for any business cant be great. The rtr market would be far more profitable and kudos to hobbyman for providing us with an option. If it wasnt for them we would have virtually no option other than interstate or os.
Now we are lucky to have 2 of the biggest retailers on our side of the city who do stock kits, parts and tyres. There is no right or wrong or one better than the other and I'm happy to promote the fact that these shops ARE stocking parts, will take orders and not make you wait 8-10 weeks for a shock seal.
With our members coming from all different corners of the East and South Eastern suburbs as well as the Mornington Peninsula they need to be confident that a local retailer will help them. Not everyone is prepared to help the American Economy back on its feet by ordering from A Main etc.
Southern Hobbies in Frankston also stock AE parts as well as rtr kits and Kyosho's.
So lets see it 1998 AE or Losi parts, none in Melbourne shops.
2009.
Hobbyman Dandenong
Metro Hobbies Box Hill
Southern Hobbies Frankston
TTRC Oakleigh [closing soon]
All stocking parts, kits, tyres etc
This is my point, Knox members have done some hard work to get these retailers on side and happy to help us. We need them for the club to grow and remain strong, without them the numbers dwindle away.

too twisted- word! i remember when you would go into a hobby shop in melbourne and be told electric off road racing didnt exist in melbourne....
mind you that was a long time ago, but just reinforces the point that hobby shop support for electric off road is better now that it had been almost since the boom days of the late eighties..

FWIW you can get X-2000s from Modelflight for less than $18.

...well you can in a week, I bought the last pair of Reds
BTW, I'm not saying don't support Hobby Man (I have bought from them twice in the last fortnight). They are a top bunch of guys, and hats-off to Dean and the guys there.
Push comes to shove I buy who from whoever has the stock and doesn't try to rip me off. I have to mail-order for everything I need as I don't live anywhere near any useful Hobby shops.
