Golden Opportunity
To all Baysiders, we have been offered a Golden Opportunity by one of our Major Sponsors MR TOYS, to help out at the Official opening of their relocated store at Kessels Road McGreggor. Bayside Remote control Car Club will be running a sausage sizzle and participating in the fun activities surrounding the promotion of our Hobby. We will be needing a little help on the day. People to help on the sizzle stall, and people to help demo the cars.
We have been authorised by centre management to cordon off a section of the carpark for racing demo and a grassy area for just having fun. We are hoping for a 9am start to whenever we run out of food or 2pm whichever comes first. All monies raised, and the high profile a community event like this gains will benefit the club and all of you racers.
Many thanks to Mr Toys for this great opportunity.
Cheers Brendan

Bayside fun Night
This weeks actual race report is best read on www.actionrc.com.au/ thanks to the expert writing of Scott Guyatt. Scott also added some extra zing with a stella race call in the 13.5 A final #1, which was for those who got to see it, the race of the night. Some really close dicing, paint swapping without crashing and a cool young head for the win by Cooper. Kids club still seeing a couple of new faces and for the one young fellow who helped out in the canteen, your dad is going to be busy keeping 2 cars on the track next time.
Baysides fun night started with startled looks from racers with a surprise $5 dolllar entry fee. Then added an incentive to win. winners in each class get a free entry at the next race meet on the 6th of July. So free entry winners are:
Kids Club - Harrison Don
21.5 - One tran
13.5 - Cooper Porter
Mod - Corey Broadstock.
The experiment with lights is unfolding and we'll progress slowly with this over the next few weeks. And yes the gas guys will get lights too.
We are very close to having our first hire car for kids club and a very exciting proposal was tabled which we will approach council about.
A mystery was solved during the week. As you know vandalism and graffiti continue to be a bug bear. a few times now we have come down to find that some good Samaritan has covered it all up. It's actually Councils Graffiti squad. Many thanks to Council.
Getting down to the track early is paying off. Had a chance to meet a young couple who have identical HPI RTR cars, and are enthusiastic about having a bit of RC fun. I went over and said have you ever tried rubber tyres on the car. He hadn't. Re-shod his car with a set of donated used tyres and he went out for some fun. I could see he was having trouble getting it to go in a straight line. I asked if would mind if we had a look at his handling problem, I set his car up on the setup station and Cavey made a few basic adjustments for him. You should have seen the grin on this couple face, when for the very first time, in all the visits to the track, they were able to race down the back straight at full throttle and the car went dead straight. A little bit of help goes a long way. Mission complete. They want to come down for some timed practice and then have a crack at some real racing.
Thanks for the continued donations to kids club. The hand out tyre sets are working a treat. A spare servo or old battery charger are next targets on the list.
Don't forget next Saturday is the MR Toys Macgreggor Openning Day. The familiar face from The Mt Gravatt store have relocated and will be offering some specials. Well known Driver Mick Sherman will be on hand to offer expert advice on a wide variety of cars from park bashers to full blown race outfits. Bayside is going to be running a Sausage Sizzle. Hope to see you there. Hope to cook through about 26 kilos of premium beef sausage on the day.
Cheers Brendan

Thanks for a great night ( shame about the rain). It was good to finally be back after a 5yr break.
My boys both had a great time with 1 racing for his first time ever in Kids Club and the other itching to start but happy to help in the canteen until he can.
Sorry to anyone I might have got in the way of as I am a bit rusty.
Cheers
Adrian and the boys

The Fraser Coast Radio Controlled Car Club is proud to announce the hosting of the 2014 ORRCA 1/10 EP On Road titles on September 25-28 .
This event will be run on a competitor supplied control Sorex 36r Tyre. Open insert and open rim. Classes will be 1/10 Touring car , 21.5 blinky, 13.5 blinky and Modified, with Formula 1 as a demo class ( rule set based on the national F1 rules 21.5 and rubber tyres) . The track surface is asphalt ,and is smooth and flat , surface is treated every race meeting.
Some club back ground. We are one of Queenslands newest and smallest clubs ,but that dosent mean we aren't competitive , with several of our drivers frequently in the top 10 at a state and national level, and previous Qld title holders. What we lack in size we make up for in enthusiasm, with the club placing second in round two of the SEQ Interclub, with only 6 drivers in attendance there against the Brissy boys .
September on the Fraser Coast is one of the best times of the year to visit , the weather is awesome ( well it is any time of the year here ), and it is the time that the whales come to play in the calm waters of the Bay, we also are on the door step to Fraser Island just a stones throw away, and home to some of the best fish you can catch or try to. Accommodation is a plenty ranging from simple tourist parks to luxurious beachside resorts. There are also direct flights to and from Sydney at very competitive rates, unfortunately no direct Melbourne flights yet . I will post some links to some accommodation options , and there will be a list on the entry form.
So book in a week and come and enjoy a holiday with a side of RC racing there will be a club meeting the weekend prior to the titles .
Any other questions feel free to shoot me a message and check us out on Facebook for all our news

A top day at Mr Toys Macgreggor new store opening. Kids were able to try out some of the GV brand vehicles, Gas & electric. Some of the boys really got into the spirit and played with some of the other toys on offer. Even dressing in donkey ears and things. Good effort by those club members who showed up to lend a hand. Lots of interest in the fact that new car buyers can come down and run their car in a controlled environment. Even talk of an RTR class just for GV's and HPI Ready To Run vehicles. Thanks to the Chop shop at Wynnum for the good as always sausage supply, Olleys Orange for the great Discount, IGa Flagstone for their Discounts and Mr toys for use of their carpark and promotions vehicles.
Got out just before the rain hit. See you at the track next Saturday.
Cheers Brendan
