Tamiya TT-01 E series Chassis , No mods other than Bearings, Motor as per kit, Body shell as per kit, tyres as supplied with kit, gearing as per kit, replacement pinions only allowed , Lipos allowed Chassis not to be cut, shockies as per kit , aluminium prop shafts and motor mount.
My opinion.

As someone who will probably end up getting a truck why not just run them as per kit with the optional bearings? As something thats meant to be a niche class and something for shits and giggles all the talk of optional this and optional that is swaying myself against getting one and also a couple of people who have recently purchased them aginst running them although the class hasnt even been run yet at the club. If a problem arises then we should look at it then, dont ruin something before its even had a chance to get off the ground.

I agree, kit + bearings is all you need, the alloy shaft apparently adds durability, but for one season, racing once every two weeks I doubt it will wear that badly.
Lets keep it simple.

Talking TT-01

Elliot & i have been bashing around TT-01's for years. My other son Mitchell started his RC journey with one. I agree with the kit only parts and the only upgrade necessary being real bearings. there is no strain on the tail shaft until you put slicks on the car. Treaded tyres are no problem. Std motor mount no problem with the supplied brushed motor. i finished Elliots truck at 1am Sunday morning. Had it on the Casino track at 10am. Didn't even glue the tyres on. Had no problem, unless you hit a barrier the wrong way, then one would sometimes dislodge. Did about 6 battery packs through it. Elliot said heaps of fun.

Cheers Brendan

Easy, use a stick pack lipo. Just like what we ran in the Mini.

i had to use a longer screw on one of the battery post mounts and put a 3mm spacer in the bottom but after that it fits fine.

By the way if you are changing to a better quality pinion (to save your spur from waring out prematurely ) remember it’s not 48 pitch but rather .6 module or as Tamiya call it AV.

Default 3rd Feb Cup Meet

Hi Noel or Shane,

Just wondering if we can turn up late for quals? (can't make the early start)

What is format for the meet? (how do the quals work and the finals)

Thanks,

Leonard.
