simple marketting rule for you;

"it's not who's first in the marketplace, but who's first in the mind of the consumer"

and i guess davids initial comment proves this. tamiya might of been FIRST but to the majority of use serpent were the "first" GET IT??

BUT HEY TAMIYA AREN'T DOING THAT BAD IN ELECTRICS.... but maybe that's got to do with the driver?

I won the 1996 Victorian Championships with a Kyosho Pure 10. This was long before Serpent or any of the others had cars worthy of racing, lets at least give credit to the originators of 200mm NTs, it was Kyosho.
Be back soon.

Default Why Battery????

Hey Tomas to answer your question,
The engine is infact located further to the right of the chassy and lower than any other car you will see,( this isnt obvious in the picks) this in combination with the different "battery location" makes for a well balanced nitro tourer.
as far as who copied who, all cars look similar but different. you will find that there are hardly any parts interchangeable between the Serpent, Kyosho, mugen, NEO etc nitro cars.
Infact you dont have to look close to see variations in designs,geometrys layouts etc. Dont get me wrong, to the untrained eye they all look similar, but these design differences are what make all these cars unique in their own way. the only radically different nitro that I can think of is the Associated , once again seems to work but definately unique!!!!
Ciao!!!

Serpent is the current Oz Champ, before the Impulse came along we were running 1500 gram cars designed for pull start engines. The rules then came out with a minimum weight of 1700 grams, yes the impulse took NTs to a new level but that does not make the others copies at all, it just makes the class the largest because of the variety available.

next thing you will be telling us is that mugen, Koyosho etc havent copied the centax clutch or the 2 speed trannys off the serpent too

Im just saying Serpent was the first one to come up with the current config of the current 10th scale
nitro tourers and the rest had to follow suit or be left behind.

if the vision pro is so good speed how come you are buying a mugen and not the vision pro?
surely you could buy the vision at a better price from the hobby shop you work for seeing as your going to be selling them there?
