ACT Kambah A call out for photos!!!
Hi all
Off the back of the AARCMCC ACT Titles on the weekend I have started a dialogue with the local government about getting this area a little more permanent.
As those would have seen on the weekend it is a fantastic little track and nice little venue being the only ashphalt onroad track available to us, yes we still have the rug.
The isssues that we are facing with this track though, is it is open to the locals who decide that it is a good spot to get drunk, take drugs, do burn outs and other assorted ventures.
In sight of this the plan is to get some fencing placed around the track to atleast prevent vehicle access. I am currently putting a few proposals and plans together.
Part of the proposal is to show the heritage and the significance of this little track to not only the ACT guys but also to the RC community.
The track has been around, I beleive, for nearly 20 years, but it used on and off.
I am requesting that people who have any type of information about the track ie photos, articles etc get in touch with me so I can use them as part of the submission.
We would love to get Kambah back to its prime considering its heritage and I look forward to the RC community backing me and helping us out to get it there.
Cheers

1984
We first raced at that location in 1984 with a off road track and used the now race track as a parking area. The first few races I won hands down with a brand new chain drive dogfighter (cant recall what number it was, ???87C or something) and there were about 10 of us. We raced there for a few months until Rose Cottage Inn was up and going after I put it to the owners who loved it, so the Kambah off road went by the wayside until the on road made their track after that. I have a few photos back in 1984 and will try, and that is stating the obvious, try to find them, I have a lot of crap in storage and dont know if that book is there or not.
