Gids, yes similar rules to last year, and yes i will not be racing again this year, so i have not commented until now, i was aware of the rules for sometime now.

So far the are expecting to have control, tire, inserts and rim, with a control number of sets, how they are going to monitor or scrutineer is news to me.

Also MR RTR lines was pissed off that We enforced the ROAR stock motor rules at the summernats, so he is adamant that the stock rules will be ANY 27t, 24degree motor. It will be interesting to see some of the missile motors that i know will make it into the hands of various drivers.

Im sure i will be there, apparently Sugarkane has been booked, and oscar Jansen is a maybe (the reason for banning of BL i say, it would be a tad embarrasing if he showed up to a mod field full of BL)

I just want to re-iterate that this is NOT an EC race meeting, Steve will merely be running the race control, RTR lines will need to provide srutineering and race marshalling. Knowing the history of the organiser i would say it will be an overgrown meca (ie NO RULES) Anyway good luck to all those who are going to race, ill make sure i bring enough beverages for all, come join me in the spectators arena

Great... :flaming: uncontrolled control motors, just what we need...

It all becomes a little clearer, don't they run rubber only most of the time OS...?

Yeha but can fast stock motors beat a 23t stock?....josh still got the best time with a monster (i think) so so far we are ok....

IT would be good if you made the tires open when surikarn comes so he can still smash everyone with rubbers anyway. It would make it a bit more even maybe as foams are supposed to be faster.

When can we run open rubber tires in stock?? ;)

Should be great that 2 pros are coming!!

Cool.. where do we buy these fun motors??? Who can rewind a 27t with thicker wire for everyone?? maybe 27x2???

Lets just all use our 23t's. that way they get more than 2 events run out of em this year.

whats wrong with a little variation. If there is a control tire, rim, insert and amount of sets, then everyone is on the same level, you would just have to hope a good combination is chosen.

I know what ill be running:sneaky:

Hixsy 03-06-2004 04:38 AM

a few questions.....

who will be doing scrutineering?
how will the numbers of tires be monitored?

sounds a bit dodgy to me....:weird:

fastolfart 03-06-2004 09:17 PM

Legal Stocks

Gunna get me self one of them twist top 27t arms and stick it in to a monster can, that should be perfectly legal under these rules :D
Hmmm might have to run a special on WD40 for the weekend for every one as well:p

Dragonfire 03-07-2004 12:27 AM

lets just rewind em.. 27x2, 27x3 would be cool...

Andrew_XXXs 03-07-2004 12:30 AM

bushings out, bearings in...goes without saying I guess...

Controlled number of SETS????, Dont they say rubbers last for 50 runs, so only 1 set would be needed for the entire meet. Lets face it everybody is on the same playing field. It's not bad really as I believe rubber is as cheap to run than foam and I only went through 1 set of Foam tires at the Nationals ($26) and 1/2 a set at MECA.

Now where do i find a set of 4 rims, 4 inserts and 4 tires for around the $30 mark.

Coxy.

Is there a distinct hint of cynicism here...or is this a serious call...?

I don't have any experience running rubbers on ashphalt but was told they weren't good for more than a few runs if you want to be at the top...especially for mod I imagine...

Control number of sets makes sense if you are going to run a control tyre, that way the racer that can afford to replace tyres every other run doesn't re-gain an advantage that running control tyres is supposed to take away...

Feel free to fire away, don't really know what I'm talking about here...:D

Besercoe,

Please PM me a list of the above motors as I would really want to be competitive in stock.

Since when was RC racing cheap anyway!!!

I think it's good that Mod at least will be in-line with the rest of the world for this event, looking forward to it ;)

Very true....
We must be one of the only places in the world that still argues about whether we should run foams or rubbers, and if a person runs rubbers is considered to be an idiot as everyone who is "fast" runs foams....

brusharc 03-07-2004 02:15 PM

No brushless = not AARCMC sanctioned event?

The "driver ranking" in Racing Lines may have to be revised. ie. not include unsanctioned winter nats results...

What is the point of AARCMAC if everyone does their own thing without following AARMAC rules???
