Winter Champs

Spoke to Steve this morning about Winter Nats Details, So far,

Electric Touring Cars.

Rubber tires will be used.
Also they are trying to think about Control tires but they are not sure how to do it. No word on a control Insert or Rim which I don’t see why you would have a control tire without Insert and Rim controlled.

And guess what No Brushless in Mod LOLLOLLOL.

Yep I know what you mean, it a drinking day for sure.

And this is not a joke, Steve Burgo told me this morning. Oh and sorry I think it's only Rubber for Mod, stock is still Foam I think.

Wow... I thought steve wasn't going to run anymore events like that. Should make stock and mod control tyre/insert if they want controled tyres.. I don't think control rim is anygood as i think some cars have probs with certain rims.

I could see a whole lot of mod drivers running stock if this is the case.

A cynic might say that it is a move to increase numbers at club meetings while drivers search for a good rubber setup for their cars.

That could be said but Steve has nothing to do with the rules, so it's not the case at all.

Granted race organisers can do whatever the hell they like...its their race series...not taking that away from them. But I still don't quite get it.

The "outlaws" pushed the brushless "movement" to the point where AARCMCC tabled them to be included in mod. Its members then vote and approve the inclusion, then they're dis-allowed in an event of such status as the Winter Nats.

Its a bit like banning 3300s and making everyone run 3000s or less.

Gotta say that I'm confused. I can't see the logic or the benefit.

All I can see is fewer mod drivers running and the brushless guys either running stock class (where one could argue that they don't belong) or joining Coxy and I for a tasty beverage. :ha:

MOVING

I,m a track owner here in the Philippines, and I'm thinking of moving to Australia this year. I would appreciate any info on how and where I could start, maybe find a job in a hobby shop or racetrack? Many thanks.

i think that running control tyres and inserts is a good thing because it puts everyone on the same block. If it happens the racers will have to really put their 'setup' skills to work to get ahead of the rest.

Yes, it WOULD be a good thing if all we ran in Australia was rubber tyres, but we dont. Lets make the control tyres 42r Ellegi's?

Same rules as last years event. And again the same people complaining, if you don't like it don't run.

Talk about backwards logic...:weird:

Isn't stock the control class ? So now we have...

Stock- Control motors and open tyres
Mod - largely uncontrolled motors and control tyres

as for the brushless thing...well doesn't affect me so :o
