well i had to say something constructive after chopping myself down on another post!

235mm is still a little low at helles and 1;8th is only just building up due to the states. tourers are going great guns. i think 1;5th is chuggling along nicely also...not too sure though.

i still recon moorebank should foster a interclub relationship with penrith, probably the only track in sydney to also run 235mm and 1;8th. it's good to see some of the penrith guys at moorebank. i also heard some of the top drivers from moorebank race at penrith now also!

I would say the track is far from hard to master.. a bad exit line from almost any corner on the track has almost no impact on performance through the next turn, stock or mod. I just found the track very easy to drive....hey i got 5th in mecca with a tamiya ta03r!!!!

The mecca meet there was a bit of a joke. There was constant abuse from race directors ordering people to hurry up and do this and do that. Then at the end of they day they tried to claim that it was the only way to run a meet.

I hope for the club members sake that this is not normal but then again this was a few years ago. Apart from the track, the facilities are better than most (wheres the toilet?) but i think the track is a little easy for elec guys.

yeah there is no doubt it isn't TOTALY suited to stock!  definately a 6T hacker track!:sneaky: the track can be cut down in the middle of the straight. this formation cuts out the sweeper and first turn leaving a good layout for electric. the middle section is preserved with the back straight and the keyhole. maybe tommy will run this configuration in the outlaw day?

There has been a toilet block donated to the club by 1/5th scale member Carl Macleod:nod:

other people have honestly had bad experiences and brush ins with members VERY SENIOR MEMBERS! this is very disapointing. i won't mention who these members are but i know it is only MAX, 2 people.

honestly people it is the racers and the organisation that make the track. for example rooty hill. let's be honest it's a shithouse surface BUT! the organisation of the meetings is as smooth as a ultrasonicly cleaned nitride bearing lubed with mobil 1, AND the racers are quick! penrith, from what i've been told is the same with possibly a finer surface, except it is more of a beginners track, (which there is nothing wrong with. i mean it in a positive sense).

moorebank is a great track. the best track layout, setup, computer system, pit area in NSW. PERIOD! and it's a fact. that's why the state titles for nitro are held there.

to all the nitro guys who have never been there.....go there. if you honestly race nitro for the competition, if you honestly race nitro as a challenge, if you are in the nitro hobby to see how you perform under pressure come race at moorebank.

were else will you be able to race every fortnight against:

-rick bartolozzi (state champ)
-wayne walker (state champ)
-alex koussas (state champ)
-darrin campbell (state champ)
-stewart grant (state champ)
-lee dytor
-kyle hazzell
-corry ventouris
-mike noak
-andrew bardetta (state champ?)
-tommy lee
-david chen
-simon nicholson (state champ?)
-jason sawtell
-craig hawkins (state champ)
-dallas gardiner (state champ)
-jarrod pace
-myself :p (state legend!:p )
(before anyone spaz attacks these names are on the moorebank website!, CHILL)
and a whole host of drivers who when on the mark can enter the A finals
you can't race these guys on a club day anywere else.
only during big events can you compete against them at EC. summernuts and winternuts that's it. racing these guys WILL improve you driving. racing WITH THESE GUYS means a wealth of knowledge just one pit table down.

(my opinion) EC is THE track for electric. moorebank is THE track for nitro, period.

there is no attitude, just focused hobbyists who will not help you if you don't ask. not because they don't want to, but because they expect you to approach them. rick B won't be walking the pits asking if you need help, he has 1;8th and a tourer to run. but when i needed help tunning my motor and setting the clutch, i asked, and he helped, until the problem was solved. i've experienced the same at EC with the electric guys. they aren't walking the pits helping newbies, but when i asked for help at EC i got it:nod:

there are heaps of EC newbs at moorebank comming now. it's only a matter of time now, people will realise there is no attitude. come and race.

wombat, coxy, BK, bvercoe. i summons the electric/nitro hybrids to a friendly challenge next meet. :sneaky: bring 45/42 shore.

WOW very well said!!:) :) :) :)

it's a shame mingara hasn't got a meca this year. i tell you what it's going to be a bit boring if all the mecas are held at one track!! :weird:  :o

hahahaha that's so funny! imagine a complete dunny block being hauled by truck to helles park! ahahha....with the sign "wide load" at the back of it.

cool to hear we finally have a toilet! finally our amenities are up to the standards of EC, mingara, kambah etc. i think penrith is the only track without a dunny now:sneaky: :D

Craig1 02-25-2004 12:51 PM

I'd wait until the paper is hanging from the roll before we celabrate having a toilet block!:ha: :ha:

Yeah, whats the story...all major races at EC this year ?? :weird:

Ogier 02-25-2004 01:31 PM

Penrith only goes from 6:30pm to 10:30pm, so unless you're a girl I'm sure you can hold out long enough. None of this whole day stuff there. :)

Oggy
