I use Team Associated white grease, it's quite old.

I have been using the diff a few months now.

Cheers

What grease are you using. Have you run the diff yet? They free up a little once run.

Ok the Associated grease is fine... not too sure. Silly question your diff isnt too tight is it?

Thanks Ari

Re: diff too tight .... I think it's ok ... have tried to set it just tight enough so it doesn't slip.

Re: diff grease ... which do you recommend ? I also have the Much More grease.

Yes it sure does i seem to find corally grease the longest lasting and the best quality, with this grease your diff will be a lil tight for the first run but it does not affect the car and it runs in nicely after the run.

Second grease would be shumacher grease, this is alot thinner and your diff will feel more free but you will not get as many runs out of it, and it does not handle the heat as well.

Thanks Simon,

Does type / quality of grease used on diff balls & plates also make a difference ?

OLD 69 04-27-2009 06:11 PM

Alan, i agree with Simon in term of grease, Corally is the best and longest lasting. Maybe put a rebuild kit through it and start fresh, if you want come over to NBHC i will build it for you as well as show you how to build it.

Thanks Simon,

have you tried the Much More grease before ?

No sorry i havent, to be honest your best off just using the corally grease becuase you dont need to put much on the rings.

And the tub you get in the kit is enough to rebuild the diff for the life of the car.... Easily the best "extra" with my phi kit IMO

Thanks Ari,

The car was awesome for the whole weekend and was so planted that peeling of consistently quick laps was made a lot easier. The car was also quick and had plenty of punch from the Orion Vortex 08 17.5 and Intellect 5000 lipo combo

I was the only car in stock to break into 23 laps for the weekend and this was against other chassis such as Schumacher, Tamiya 416, X-Ray and Associated.

I maybe wrong but I think that now makes the Corally PHI the current South Australia, New South Wales and Victorian State stock title holder. One more big one to go in November

As Ari said I will put together my set up sheet from the weekend,

Cheers

Has Simon recovered from his Trans-Pacific flight yet?

Wait until he has a few more days with the Phi 2.

B4james 05-31-2009 08:55 PM

Thanks Bill,

Yeah, he was calling the boys on the cell phone all weekend so I think he has recovered. :D

From what I have been reading I think he is going to be red hot with the new car, more grip and more steering. Bring it on:nod:
