yep put the gear on the car tonight trying to balance it up so far ive only added 30 grams as we now run at 1425g its pretty close ill set it up fully tomorrow, the new diff is so nice and smooth and easier to build. u just gotta make some dust covers and itll be perfect.

More RDX Phi Domination
 

Another sucsessful weekend at Windsor at the club challenge event with the RDX Phi taking out the very competetive Stock & Super Stock classes.

Both these fields had a number of quality drivers and simply making the 8 car "A" finals was an achievement in itself.

Actually fergo didnt TQ he qualified 3rd :p..

How ever he was definitely the fastest in stock, congrats on the win..

My car just didn't feel as quick as it did in qualifying :weird:. Seemed like everyone else just got faster :lol:

In stock what were the top 3 guys running as far as brushed v brushless ?

Im currently running brushless/lipo

Fergo (pretty in pink) was running brushed/lipo but has now switched to brushless/lipo

As far as motors we are both using trinity 17.5 duo;s while i use SMC lipo's he uses Feral lipo's i believe. Ill be buying a few different 17.5's and have a play around with them :sneaky:

hey chaps some of the guys have been running the short wheel base version at my club with some good success, i would like to know what belts would you suggest i get if i wanted to run mine in a SWB version? and also if you could inform me of what pulleys etc one would need to do the conversion? my aim is for as min friction as possible...:sneaky:

Hi Buddy, im just in the process of conveting my spare car to short wheel base, im running 36t pulleys, standard centre pulleys with the standard front belt and a Tamiya 415 rear belt, you have to move the rear shock tower on the front side of the bulk head, when mine is complete i will post some pics.

Ok, 3 questions for the experts here....

Just finished my phi, and my kit came with a different steering link than what was in the instructions, as it has 2 ball studs that bolt into the front, not facing the bottom deck as pictured in the book. Do I need to run spacers to get correct steering angles or not? It looks ok on my set up station, but ackerman may be affected by this?

Also I purchased the vertical rear uprights too. I have the long inner links to make everthing line up, but what spacers, bottom holes and outer link position are being used by others to get close the the kit settings for the regular version?

Finally what servoe saver are people running? I put an older Kimbrough one I found on(no idea what weight as it was lying at the bottom of old 12th scale stuff!), but it feels a bit soft to me...

Lovely car-great quality of materials and design-much improved on my cyclones, and was moving along ok last night in 10.5 on the local carpet, but really needed a spool or diff in the front to settle it down a bit, as you really need brakes on our track in anything faster than stock..... Hope it feels as good on the asphalt whan I get a chance to run it.

It depends on what ball studs you will be using as some are "spaced up" already. I used the HPI ball studs & 3mm shims.

The ball studs in the kit which attach to the rear shock tower give the same height when used in the new uprights when using the outside hole of the old uprights. Does that make sense lol

I use a Kimbrough one myself and it works a treat.


The car has proven to be extremely capable on Ashphalt, im sure you wont be dissapointed.
