The trick is to do well WITHOUT spending lots of money;) hehehe there might be a element of truth in that! has anyone ever put pen2paper and calculated how much dough is in the pits of a combined elec/nitro meet? if your not in it for the fun,......then really, there is no justification for taking part in this hobby is there. IMAGINE IF THERE WAS MONEY/SPONSORSHIP/TROPHIES UP FOR GRABS! man this hobby would be competative!..... actually there is sponsorship/trophies up for grabs! i just haven't been offered it yet!:flaming:  :flaming:  .....far out! it must be the competition then?! nah can't be.... DAMN IT I QUIT!  :D  |
I think it would be good if there was a 'drivers class'. That is, a spec class, with spec motors, rubber tires (Spec tire), spec shell, spec batts (ie, you can get these yellow sanyo 1700 cells for like...5 or so bucks a cell), and so on. Mayb even lock the final ratio of the cars, just make it a fully equalised class. We could even start our own and if the numbers are there, they would have to take notice!
Just my two cents! Lick my scrotum Atomix! lol Never said i was doin well! Which works for me i dont spend heaps. |

What a tight ass Bet you dont hear that from a guy often I know a few people at the clubs i race at would like to see a similar class to this start (just at the club) that they can compete in, and bring juniors into so that they can have good clean competitive racing without spending $$$$$. Its meant to be fun.....If you got the money then by all means. But there are lots of people who cant justify the $$$ on these little cars. |
Originally posted by yobbism Pretty much......... And no, not from many, just from the people that are sick of buying new cells everytime they come out, just for an extra 1/10 of a second a lap. Its getting stupid. would just have to winge about the price of yarn then..... and the sponsered grannies with their factory needles.

Ive spent stuff all and im on the pace (enough for club level neways)
|
Although this thread is not the right one to discuss this, there is definately a "class" gap between stock & mod.
|

BAH! maybe were over analysing it to much. penrith gets a truckload of racers each meet, so does the woollongong area and at the last moorebank meet all the regular joes who weren't there (title burnout?) seem to have been replaced by a large influx of begginers! excellent. |
A spec style type of racing is a great idea, look at the V8 540 series at the hill, hard tires, low downforce bodies, and 540 motors, all makes for a great class with a level playing ground.
something similar, although not necessarily 540 would be a good idea at all clubs, although what would tend ot happen is that the rules would vary between clubs, and make interclub racing difficult, as different requirements would be needed for each. a V8 style class with a stocker or one of the spec style stockers would be a great idea for outdoor racing where 540's are just too slow. I think that ROAR 27 Stock should be promoted as the developing ground, and then implement an intermediate class such as spec 19. This would make it easier for all you stock masters out there who are unwilling to make the very big jump to full mod. I think it is a shame to see seasoned racers running stock against beginners intermediate style drivers. I know of people who have raced stock as long as i have known them, (and that is a long time, greater than a decade). wow i really need to get a life:confused: |
This thread just hasn't got the ZING the original had, maybe some thing to do with the PPL who posted them

A sledge...maybe?
TSW to create a new TSW "2" - Actual Racing Division! Members must be those who know how to enjoy rc and race TOURING CARS! SmokinJoe - Your on the team! |
Last year at the off-road vics i spent a total on my cars of about $30 for two sets of tyres and managed to win 2w mod. It doesnt really matter how much you spend in off road as much as in on road, its much more on driving and who you know that you can borrow shit off

BORING THREAD
I think that this thread should be renamed the boring thread
WHERE'S THE BLOODY SLEDGEING   |
OK Pete here's some sledging. After last weeks Mini race, you should change your name to Crash Dummy.
Is that what you are looking for? |
NOW THATS BETTERER:D
|
I seem to recall seeing crash test dummy in action at the summer nats, everybody had a shot at the title that day, aint that right fastolfart????
|
Who was that fool with the Pink and Yellow noisy tourer at the creek on the weekend?
mmm maybe someone could tell me how to set up a noisy tourer. Handles like a pig at the moment. |

OFF ROAD NATS
Congrats fastolfart on your win, but are we gonna hear anything of the black flag?:ha:
|
I think that I have the crash and recover method under control now ;)
Now all I have to do is not go too sleep when i'm leading by 4 seconds  I think I will leave the black flag story alone (I got suckered into that after a hard recovery from crash & burn) May be we should rename the winter nat to the Brass Monkey Challenge :p should be nice and cold at Rooty Hill for the weekend  |

A good thread never dies....
TPR ( Team Pleb Racing)- What is on the agenda next? = SCX racing maybe, should solve the dumping issues? New Class = SCX New Chassis = Audi TT Red Bull Xenon with Xenon Headlights! |
BK you should stop reading RTR Lines it is making your brain soft.
Actually time to change that sig, have had it for ages now |
yes... the SCX content in RTR Lines is BORDERING OVERLOAD.... i think T Traders own the entire current issue of RTR Lines, with the Karn Evo3 on every 2nd page....
i wonder if Karn got his Evo3 in HK like everyone else? :sneaky: |
I think RC Car Action did a great job of covering the Winternats, especially with the World Champion being here and all, 'cause that happens every day & stuff. I just knew they would do a great job of covering the event. I mean, having Andrew Abbott tell us about his day was sooo much better than getting some insight from Surikarn Jun. I mean, why would we want that, when we can have another article from Mr Abbott.
The Castle Hill winter pointscore summary was more in depth than the Winternats coverage. Im just glad that this issue had THAT photo in it. I hope its in the next one too. Regards Timmy:rolleyes: |

Im Sure THAT pic will be in there for a while, or maybe we will even be lucky enough to see a different pose every month.
