true michael.
is this the factor that scares alot of the newbs away?
or maybe this is what scares the middleground newbs to move up to a quicker league. ie: from club racing to mecas then to state titles type stuff..
BAH! maybe were over analysing it to much. penrith gets a truckload of racers each meet, so does the woollongong area and at the last moorebank meet all the regular joes who weren't there (title burnout?) seem to have been replaced by a large influx of begginers! excellent.

A spec style type of racing is a great idea, look at the V8 540 series at the hill, hard tires, low downforce bodies, and 540 motors, all makes for a great class with a level playing ground.
something similar, although not necessarily 540 would be a good idea at all clubs, although what would tend ot happen is that the rules would vary between clubs, and make interclub racing difficult, as different requirements would be needed for each. a V8 style class with a stocker or one of the spec style stockers would be a great idea for outdoor racing where 540's are just too slow.
I think that ROAR 27 Stock should be promoted as the developing ground, and then implement an intermediate class such as spec 19. This would make it easier for all you stock masters out there who are unwilling to make the very big jump to full mod.
I think it is a shame to see seasoned racers running stock against beginners intermediate style drivers. I know of people who have raced stock as long as i have known them, (and that is a long time, greater than a decade). wow i really need to get a life

Last year at the off-road vics i spent a total on my cars of about $30 for two sets of tyres and managed to win 2w mod. It doesnt really matter how much you spend in off road as much as in on road, its much more on driving and who you know that you can borrow shit off

Seriously, can't you remember the setup you used when you ran it at the Creek and got 5th (first meet)?
