Default Old motors.

when your motor is feeling dead..and you have new brushes in it and a clean cut com... or you want that extra pep for a nats event or something..buy a new can..

"fresh magnets" will give you great power gains on an old motor..specially if your motor has been "HOT' in the past, as heat kills magnets..desturizes them.

..new can...then..cut the rapping...then...some new brush's , Oil the bushe's "use sinthetic bushing oil" run motor at 2.4 V's for 300 secs...put in and drive..

PS soon to have special tricks list for stock motors.."LEGAL"

And never use com drops....i call it burn lube.

Can't wait! I've been runing at Templestowe, probably the best racing in Victoria. I have a good car, good cells and more stock motors than you can shake a stick at, my driving isn't to shabby, I normally run an consistency of about 0.5 and I get whooped! If I gear my car to have similar straight line speed to a lot of the others I get no punch out of the corners.

I'm sure a lot of it is down to lines, but some of the guys motors leave me for dead!

If you just can't wait for Painy's tips go to www.motortuningsecrets.com and the Big Jim motor forum at www.rccars.com for some good information

yes, lines do have a lrge impact on overall speed out of the corner, ad at the end of the straight.

what packs are you runing..which motor are you running?

Painy

My lines are very similar to the faster guys,I try to carry as much corner speed as possible but it's in the really tight sections I don't seem to be able to punch out of the corners like some of the others.

Cells

Trinity Team GP3300's, Also have Orion Team HV's which I don't think are as good.I know a lot of stock guys use UMH/SMH and I've tried some borrowed packs which didn't seem any better than my GP's.

Motors, all tuned to the best of my ability, using big Jim's tips

Fantom MVP - fave at the moment
Monster - feels like it needs gearing up but lap times say not. Cant figure this one out???
Fantom P2K - Seems to have lost it's edge lately
Orion Chrome - plain sucks!!

Hoping my 'pain tuned' P2K2 will have all the answers for the Vics.

I saw you run at the Hoppers meeting and your RClab was ballistic! Any hints would be very welcome.

strange..
Your cells are nice...
Motors are..good..Monster should be nice.but with the monsters.
its like a 1 in 2 monsters are verry poor.. yeah so you have a lucky dip

How old is the p2k? and what is the com size? as in diamater?

MVP's heat up too much..and or go soft after 4 mins.

crome.. "mabey good 3 years ago.

what brushes are you using on your motors.

yeah this p2k2..is good..same motor i used at hoppers..

when do you need p2k2?..as iam in the middle of rebulding it..etc.. just need to true it.. and re cut the brushes..and should have it away.anytime soon.
when are the vics?

Painy

Vics are this weekend, so it would be good to get the the motor in the next couple of days, no pressure

The P2K is a couple of years old but I have just got a new arm, yet to re-build it but I have high hopes, this WAS my favourite.

I have been using Putnam blue/green in everything but the Monster, it doesn't seem to like them, or anything else for that matter!

Cheers for the input,much appreciated.

I can re-true the comm and replace the brushes, dont worry about that. I would prefer the motor sooner rather than later if possible.

Cheers

any hints and tips for a nitro driver who wants to enter into electric stock?

what is the best car for stock racing? i want something i can then use in a brushless class in eastern creek.

is it worth spending all the cash on a xray for stock, to then upgrade to brushless?
