Arrow Screw This!!!

Does anyone know if there is a Screw/Bolt specialists in Sydney? or in Australia that may have an Online Store? or if its in Sydney, somewhere in the Metro area or the burbs?

What I require are grub/socket head screws within the metric size, doesnt have to be stainless, but could be a bonus...

I've heard that a shop up at Drummoyne but dont know the name of the store...

It's called Mr Stainless, a little further down from the RSL if your coming from mLyons Road, or Gladesville.

Although he doesn't really carry much that is good for RC Racing, you need to find a good engineering store.

i tried finding a cheap screw place in the yellow pages, couldn't find any i found one joint and i told them the weird sort of screws i needed ( ) i wanted them in alloy and they said it would be near impossible to find a place with screws of that type.

post it here if you find a place that supplies alloy screws at a cheap price.

after looking for about 1/2hr at work through the yellow pages i though "ahh screw it!" and gave up

Any sort of fitter and turner should be able to thread a blank screw to any type thread you want, its almost like a mr minit cutting keys. apart from that, you could get a bag of blank screws from a hardware store (maybe hard to find) and thread one yourself with a sturdy com lathe and a threading chisel.

The place I go to is called Coventry Fasteners. Look it up i the book. We used to get everything from them. I wouldnt worry about stainless. stick with their heat treated hi'tensile black thingys. I like to outfit all my cars with them. That way you just have to use a 2mm hex driver most of the time. They used to be in Alexandria, but moved. Lok them up and find their new location.

well if you were to do your own screws (if you were that desparate for them) it would be easier to make a lathing butt on a com lathe than it would be to go out and buy a screw lathe which is practically a com lathe with a butt already with it. I guess you could make a lathing butt out of a metal punch or something similar and a block of wood. Im just putting forward ideas here

Talking W000T

Samma3l, making screws on a Com laythe.... you gotta be smoking something mate.....

those little things dont have enough torque or HP to even start cutting the basic form of a screw let alone cutting the thread...

would be interesting to see someone try....lol
