the track is on a clay base with it broken down a little with other soils thrown in the mix..
surface is best described as hard packed, medium rough with loose dirt off the racing line.
if it gets a shower the night before racing it becomes a bit soft, providing really good traction.

Some buggy tyres of choice in no specific order are:
  • komodo II
  • losi silver step pins
  • proline step ups
  • advantage splinters
  • knuckles 2
and i think to a lesser extent crime fighters and bow ties but the above listed are most popular.

I think pro-line crime fighters are used more than knuckles 2.0. The knuckles seem to go pretty well when the track hasn't seen a lot of rain, and only then about half way through the day as the racing line gets swept clean.

I think any medium to small pin style tyre would work reasonably well, as there is usually a layer of dust on the surface, and it gets very loose once you get off the racing line.

Glenn is it possible to put something to the SDMCC committee for a determination?

As we've discussed in person, there's a bit of conjecture regarding the centre diff/rear brake option for the Revo. The rules go out of their way to note that there is to be no "1:8th buggy centre diffs" in open MT... now the Traxxas centre diff obviously isnt a buggy diff.... but it pretty much has the same effect...

I dont plan on buying one yet - but there's a fair bit of time between now and then... things may change

Is it possible for the committee to come back with a 'yay' or 'nay' on the legality of the centre diff option for Revo? I dont have an objection to either position.... but would be good to know where we stand.

its hard to say at this stage as we are getting more and more entries all the time, it seems most are leaving their entry to the last minute.

just remember to have them in by closing date, sept 22nd so you avoid a late fee

In the Pits during BBQ Lunch

this should give you interstate guys a good view of the pit area, so you can see in advance the shady tree line i was talking about that 70% of members use, the long line up for BBQ during lunch aswell as seeing how friendly us southern racers really are

10th September racing video #1. "In The Summer Time"
that video is some of my best work, hope you all enjoy it!

and theres one more video of the racing to come soon.
