Next year I am going to run oval blocks on everything, I feel their lack of handling is out weighed by the awesome noise hey make

Yep, agree which is probably why they were ok on Saturday more.

That's the spirit!
I've been pushing for oval blocks for years, but none of these 'racer' types have the testicular fortitude to run with them.

(...and I've already discovered that of you're the only one running them you get left for dead so it and all or nothing sort of deal)

Lets irritate Ed and push for the hotshots to go back to oval blocks for next year. And to make it interesting, lets make it that you only get one set for the day!

Yeah sure we can change the rules, then we will get some joker who will complain and want to use some other tire.

Ran them on the rear through the finals and they were sweet, only M2 bow ties too. At the 1:49 mark - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WLmTWJAOFlA

Priceless!

And about 20 seconds later you hear me cursing when I manage to stuff up the double, double for the 200th time that weekend! I hope nobody thought I was cursing them, it's ALWAYS my fault, regardless who I hit.

Touche sir, touche.
Well played.

Still think a field of completely out of control, noisy, plastic race cars would look cool though.

I really liked the 2WD purist class also.

It has me wondering if there is room for a 4WD purist class also. No modern M3 type tyres, just kit supplied type stuff.

Whilst I like the concept, tamiya is the only company re releasing 4wds and their tires. Not even sure if yokomos or Lazers and Cats came with tires? Then there's the range of rims and tires across the models. Some have 2inch and some have 2.2 inch.

I think hotshot is the 4wd purist equivalent. This class should be limited to 2inch tamiya tires, squares or spikes. I'm thinking of getting a hotshot for next year and giving the Top Force a year off.

A little late back to the thread - just wanted to say how much Ben and I enjoyed the weekend.

Definitely returning next year, and like many here are saying, want to be a little better prepared. Ideally having run the cars in a modern meeting prior.

Saturday 2WD was the highlight for me, and Sunday for Ben.

Can't say I really enjoyed too much after my entertaining fall... which unfortunately has resulted in a broken collarbone, with surgery planned for next Tues, I should be back on track shortly. Thanks to all who helped me pack up on Sunday, especially Dean and Clint.

Again, thanks to Mikey, Richard, Ed and the Casso team. Such a wonderful event that I plan to attend for many years to come.

Above all, I think this event is great because of the friendships developed. Many laughs had with nobody taking themselves too seriously.

Some pictures from Sunday attached.

Cheers,
Scott

Oh Scott, sorry to hear you suffered such an injury. How did you explain that one to your wife?

The Wife was fine mate - just concerned as it looked pretty horrific by Sunday night. So a trip to the ED was enforced.
