Default Freaking Awesome!

Hi guys - this is DARRYN (RETRO R/C) here on Micks log in. (forgot my password!!)

St Ives really is trying to pull out all stops to make this event epic!

Not only is the track absolutely brilliant - check out the attached pics for our pit are for interstate visitors!! Also took a pic from the steps of the interstate pits building to show just how close it is to the track.

To try and make sure the track is as good as we can possibly get it - we have laid down sheeting to keep as much of the rain of the track as possible - obviously the track is not able to be driven on while the sheet is down! (unless you like drifiting)

Thanks to Mav's Wife Stephanie - she has been an absolute champion getting the kitchen ready in the interstate pit building - even setting up and cleaning the tables. Thankyou very much Stephanie!

Blinking awesome effort by the club so far. Havent heard a bad word about the track - even 1/8th scale boys are talking about how good it is to drive!!

Cheers

Darryn

Looks awesome guys cant wait for Wednesday! The interstate pit area is pretty special.

How was the tyre wear today? 1 run in 2w mod or better? It looks abrasive from the vids.

Looking forward to catching up with lots of old friends, making new ones and of course racing....

Ray, i was able to get 3 runs out of my 2wd Rears today, with tread still left on them.

If the track is let to groove like it did today Tyre wear and Grip will be great.

It was my first day on the new layout today, the surface is quite abrasive and plenty of grip with Pro-line control tires. I was using some old tires I had in 4wd stock so not sure how mod would wear.

Hey all, just curious to how the practice day will work on thursday with timing

Does the host just open up 30 minute sessions for each class or just turn the timer on and let drivers flood the stands?

Also, a guy im racing with has had a transponder die and grabbed himself a new one (ie new number) will it be ok to change it on the day, or should we email someone in advance to save race control time?

Cheers,
Reedy

Hay mate,
Thursday each driver gets (i think) 3 x 7mins timed practice per class.
Wednesday is free for all pretty much.

Correct me if im wrong Daniel C

The rules covering Practice are (predominantly) in section 6.1. They are quite flexible to allow them to be tailored to the number of classes and entries. The conditions listed above fall within what is allowed, and seem sensible.

There is to be a total of 7-8 hours of practice on each of the two days, barring rain.

In short, all seems good to me.
