TMORC 25th Aniversary weekend
#1
TMORC is holding a 25th. aniversary race weekend to celebrate over 25 years of continuous racing at our Heatley Park track.
The club has come a long way since 1984 and has added on road EP and Nitro, as well as Nitro offroad to the calendar.
The Heatley track was re built for the 2009 ORRCA Qld./AARCMCC championships and the 2010 AARCMCC National championships and competitors agreed that the track is one of the best pure 1/10 EP offroad tracks left in the the country.
The club's recent amalgamation with Twin Cities Model Sport Club has seen the old Blakey's Crossing track rebuilt to allow 1/8th.Nitro and electric racing to be added to the club's portfolio.
The club invites all current and former members and fellow competitors to a weekend of racing and memories with an emphasis on fun.
Bring along all your old cars for a veteran's race or concourse.Show the younger generation what racing was about way back when 540 stock was tops.
We will add additional information as numbers firm up.The entry form and details will be posted here tomorrow.

If anyone bumps into or see's any past members, can you let them know that this is on. Also, if anyone from the Clubs early days have any pictures of any racing back then, could you get some scans done and drop off to HERC Hobbies so we can post them up on a whiteboard during the weekend

Just over a month to the meet, get those entries in, and don't forget a vintage car to run as well, after all if you run a vintage car, that class doesn't have a entry fee on it and would be good to see a full field of old cars tearing up the track again.
Would anyone be game enough to go all out and use some old 1200 or 1400 nicads, along with a old period correct speedy as well

Geez I would Love to come to this and even bring a Hotshot.
My first car and introduction to RC Racing was with a Hotshot at the Townsville Heatley Track back in 1984.
Robbie M with his Reedy Red Dot powered RC10. Wayne with his Mugen Bulldog 4x4. Peter H with his RC10. Craig and Trev with the old Optima chain driven 4x4's and Yokomo. ahhh the memories. 1200mha batteries that would barely give you the required 6 minutes and mechanical speed controllers similar to Slot car controllers. Thank god for technology......
I remember buying a brand new Fox and installing a piece of new tech in it, an electronic speed controller. (VERY EXPENSIVE in 1984 haha)
Wish I could make it..........have fun guys.

Trying to place you Oztiger, as back in 84 the Hotshot would have been the new kid on the block and not to many around yet. Who I ma thinking you are may be Gavin M, Micheal H or Greg Fitz, couple of others there I missed, but even a few of those names above may be a bit later then 84.
That Bulldog of mine you spoke about, that was my first sponsored drive, a 800 dollar Pitstop Mugen Bulldogg, had all the goodies on.
Would be good to see you make the trip if you could, hopefully it will be a big weekend
