Problems with Micro 555

I've got a micro 555 I was planning on using in my electric park flyer. Unfortunately, it's dead and isn't receiving a signal at all. The receiver hasn't been used in any other plane. Is it possible to get it replaced?

Do I have to have the receipt? The receiver was bought quite awhile ago, and I no longer have the receipt.
