Gary: I have a question and correct me if I'm wrong. Quite a few years back wasn't Hitec actually Aristrocraft? Later on they dropped the Aristrocraft name and began using the Hitec name? I am curious, this has been bugging me for a while. I could swear that the Hitec name was used on the Aristrocraft badging on the radios and servos!

Hi guys, is it safe for me to use (at list for the meantime) my AM radio futaba 2PCKA 27mhz and mating it with my HITEC HP-2RNB AM reciever which is also 27mhz? I tried it and it work just fine...
Any advice from you guys?

Gary: How big of a deal is that Negative and Positive shift on radios? My cousin uses Futaba receivers with his Airtronics M8 and has no problems at all. I always thought that if the radio and receiver were on opposing shifts that it shouldn't work at all. I have also heard of other people miss matching their components and having no problems! Is it just a range reduction if you are using components on different shifts or are there supposed to be other problems associated with it? My nephew got a Multiplex Profi radio and had the shift changed over for his Futaba receivers (as per what the guy at Multiplex told him to do), and it seems as though it may have been a waste of money to have it done, because it appears that it isn't all that necessary!

The big thing about the shift is the Xtals. You won't be able to make a futaba Xtal work with a Airtronics radio. Some systems will work with other components, but its not recomended to mix up different Manufacturers gear. You could end up with reduced range and more susceptability to radio hits. TTYL.

I am a huge hi-tec fan. I have a Lynx 3D, Hi-tec digital servo, and HFX, Actually any car that I get that is electric will be set up with hi-tec digital servo and HFX.
The problem is this, I bought a used nitro car of a guy that same with a Lynx am radio. I ran it and it was HORRIBLE. All the controls seemed slow. I couldn't figure out what the deal was. So I cleaned it all up, tore everything apart and found out that the guy had put 27 mhz crystals in the TX and RX on a 75 mhz radio. I bought a new RX and put hi-tec crystals in both the radio and receiver and it still doesn't work.
Is it worth sending in for repair, (obviously it will cost me something) or should I just go out and buy a brand new one.

Well you do have a 3D, so if you wanted to you could just get another DCX and install it in the car. I am not sure as to how much it would cost to get the AM fixed. Here's the email addy for our repair dept. You could send them a line and see what they would charge you, if anything. TTYL.

Dang, we seem to be having some server problems. I can't get onto our website right now. I'll try again in a bit to get you the email addy.
