Default Feather Rx

Hi,

I have a Feather Rx (40MHz) and the antenna length is abt 3 times of the 27MHz ones.
Can I cut it shorter? What is the shortest length possible without sacrificing the performance?
Thanks in adv.

If it is the stock wire, do not cut it.

The wire length is frequency dependant...

Hi,

thanks for the info. I just wondering why it was noticeably longer than of other 40MHz RX antenna...
For example the Airtronics Rx, antenna length is just nice to fit inside the antenna pole. Any particular reason why the Hitec was longer? Thanks.

The aircraft receivers antennas are 1/4 wavelength where the surface antennas are 1/8th (1/2 the size)

Hi Mike,
Thanks for the info.
So I guess it is possible to cut it to half. Any particular effect on the receiving?

thanks.
